A different take on the Fifth Church of Christ, Scientist! I was exploring a rather bleak wall off to one side and noticed some large pits in the surface of the wall and I had to wonder how they got there. They looked mostly smooth and eroded and not like they were chipped away, but they were pretty deep for a church that is not that old.

This was a tiny little piece of web I found in one such pit. I wanted to make this look like it was from somewhere else, a large cave perhaps, and I like the way it ended up.

Steps: 345.

WEB (del inglés: red, malla, telaraña)

Spiders webs on a tree branch catching the sunlight in Short Wood, back in June on day 1 of 30 Days Wild.

I saw this fat spider spinning her web on the swings in the backyard. So I rushed in and grabbed my camera & tripod (I'm learning to be married to my tripod). I also called the girls out so they can see this magnificent creature.

They have seen the movie and immediately named her "Charlotte."

Charlotte was working meticulously against a strong breeze. It was extremely difficult to get the camera to focus on her.

At some point, a fly got caught in the web and right then we had our own National Geographic moment. She quickly moved to immobilize her prey --- trapping and spinning her web around it, then carrying it to the center of the web.

It was amazing, and the girls were fascinated. It was a good day.

Low to the ground and lots of morning mists. Cold winter ahead?
