A large (35-40mm) female Tent web spider Cyrtophora citricola guarding her egg sac.

Extreme treatment of a cherry tree espalier on a garden wall at the Tyntesfield National Trust property near Bristol.
Shot with Silver Efex Pro2 Extreme Negative processing in mind. It made the best of a very dull rainy day and, to be honest, a hard subject to make interesting despite the strong visual impact of the espalier.
A couple of other 'Extreme Negative' shots from the same location to follow.
