On a day that's been lost to time, I again caught the Medford turn at 4th Street, this time with an ex-CNW GP30. The 4th Street crossing, along with the old GP30, is now gone. The old CNW ROW (parallel to the WC's tracks and behind the blue pickup truck) is now the Veterans' Parkway.
The 567s are singing away climbing Byron Hill behind a pair of GP9s, Nos. 4501 and 1702, even though this WC local freight has only three boxcars for Quad Graphics. No. 4501 is an ex M&StL GP9 and it still wears C&NW colors, while No. 1702 is attired in the former FRVR paint, in February 2000.

WC SD45 7517 sits in the deadline at Homewood, IL. 7517 was one of the lucky survivors, it made it to the DMVW.
On a tip from fellow railfan Mike Yuhas, I drove (in a snowstorm) up to Cedarburg, WI where I caught L507 tied up for the night. 5:40 A.M. 2/2/2008
