This osprey was perched overlooking the Willamette River yesterday. It patiently waited while I joined another photographer, who had sat watching it in the same place for a half hour. Within 3 minutes of my arrival, it took off, just what the other photographer had been waiting for. Unfortunately for me, there was a pole in my way of a clear shot, but he was able to get the shot he'd been waiting for!

The bad thing is that it's on kodachrome and it's really hard to scan... at least with the scanner I have available... so anyway there's loss of details in the shadows and some grain and a bit of color awkwardness... the slide looks much better.
I sit here, sipping my morning tea, watching Mother Nature apply her paint brush to the sky over Lake Superior. How lucky I am !
She returns when she's ready and sits and watches. She waits for contact and interaction on her conditions and terms. She tells me when she is ready and that I am to follow her lead. When you're wild....caution controls your life. So I have called her Caution.
He appeared out of nowhere, watching me as I set my camera. I briefly paused for a moment, looked up, saw him posing and snapped the shutter.
