Every war is the senseless destruction of lives

in the interests of the arms industry and a few deranged fanatics!

It was a bit like watching a warzone - Halloween celebrations in Portaferry (thanks to Rodney for the title)

Yaquina Head’s tide pools are a savage, slimy warzone where the Pacific and the earth have been duking it out since time forgot. I stood there, boots slipping on seaweed, the air reeking of salt and rot, staring at a basalt monolith streaked with lichen like some sea god’s war paint. The pools shimmered with trapped ocean—purple starfish and swaying anemones hunting in a psychedelic mess. The waves growled, the horizon sneered, and the cold bit into my bones. It’s raw, brutal, a place where nature laughs at your existence, and all you can do is grin back at the madness.

The mummies wanted to get in the eastern guardian tower, but they had no battering ram to break the door down with... So they used the next best thing; a sarcophagus! As the mummies were about to start battering the door in, Aymeri and his men showed up and ambushed them on both sides.

C&C much appreciated :)

For Dutch notions, the Vliehors is an exceptional region as far as landscape is concerned. The dimensions of the panorama here are in no proportion to man. One is surrounded by a sand plain stretching out to the horizon or to the endless surrounding sea. This sandbank was once a dune region in which the village West Vlieland was located. The northern border of that area and the location of West Vlieland now lie at least a kilometer further north in sea. Before 1950, the Vliehors was a large sand plain, without any growth whatsoever. Since that year, Rijkswaterstaat began placing branches and reed screens on the Vliehors, creating drift dikes. Three dikes were created in this manner: the permanent dike, running from the training camp in a westerly direction, and the first and second drift dike, which lie to the west of the air force tower. Since recently, a new dune area has been forming in the shelter of these drift dikes. Primary dunes grow into a complex of dunes and the low areas in between develop quickly into salt marsh. Interesting plants grow on this salt marsh and in the dunes; the first bushes have also been reported. On the Vliehors, one can easily see how a sand plain slowly changes into a dune area. Put this on a larger scale and one can imagine how a wadden island develops from a bare beach ridge into an island covered in growth. Seals sometimes lie on the tip of the Hors. Nowadays, man is using the Vliehors more regularly. The entire area is a training terrain for the Department for Defence. They named it Cornfield Range and it is the only place in the Netherlands where fighters and bombers can practice with both practice and live ammunitions. Airplanes of the Netherlands air force and different other NATO countries are daily visitors of the range. They can hire time, named slots, to let their pilots practice their skills at the range.

This Straight Out of Camera Photo taken on Vlieland an island in the North Sea - The Netherlands. During the weekdays it's a training terrain for the NATO airforce. But in the weekend you can igore all warning signs and enjoy the dimensions of the panorama here. On this day the sand became very hot when exposed to the warm sun, easily being more than 10°C hotter than the sea air one meter above, enough to cause this inferior mirage. The real object is the blue sky and the Leopard tank in that direction, meaning we see a bright bluish patch on the ground in the distance. For exhausted travelers in the desert it appears as a lake of water. This is called a "desert mirage". Not a lot of people know about this place, so I was here all alone! It's quite an unique experience since the Netherlands has one of the highest population densities in the world. And yet I was here all alone. I'm sure this is the quietest place in the Netherlands. When you visit this place don't make a mistake to visit this place in the weekdays!

The battery is constructed according to a standard layout for this type of anti-aircraft batteries. The site still contains the fire control post of type FL244 (Fire control post for heavy Anti Aircraft battery) on the northeast side of the site and in the center of the site four gun positions of the types FL243 Emplacement for 8,8/10,5cm Anti Aircraft gun). On the south side are two ammunition bunkers of the type FL246 (Munitions Auffülrlaum für Schwere.

Caution, massive technobabble wall ahead.

The Merlin is a medium gunship boasting state-of-the-art armament and armor. Its main weapon is a extremely high-power laser, capable of penetrating through most enemy armor (barely visible under the fuselage). To deal with the massive quantities of heat the laser puts out during operation, as well as to protect its delicate electronics, the weapon retracts into the body of the gunship when not being fired, protecting it and allowing it to be rapidly cooled between bursts. In addition, the Merlin has four hardpoints for extra fuel, jammers, or missiles- this model is carrying a full load of 12 self-guided bunker-buster missiles. Finally, it has two 30mm cannons (because it's totally not OP already).

The coaxial rotors and the two engines give the Merlin more manuverability and acceleration than a comparable VTOL hovership would. Top speed does suffer, however. A crew of two flies the Merlin, and they are kept informed by the large radar array in the nose.

This has been under construction for about two weeks. Built the cockpit first, then spent a while trying to build a cargo bay for troop transport. I eventually gave up on troop transport and added the engines onto the doors, then built the rest of the fuselage and the weapon pylons. The rotors came next- I realized that with nothing on top to balance out the sloping engines, it looked like a lumpy tan penguin trying to skydive. The folding laser was the final addition, when I realized I had a ton of empty space to use up inside but still no way for troops to get in. I'm quite happy with the way everything turned out here, especially the cockpit. BTW, cockpit creds go to someone, I think Andrew Somers, and the radar design is from Rancorbait. Hope you enjoyed!

Now, these were three warzones in one week. War isn't a fun thing.

A week after:

Alright. Shit just got worse, because looking for the third agent could get really bad. We winded up in conflict with P.E. and Mech-Prince’s forces again. Ironrazor had led a raid on us and we’ve tried holding back, with no avail. Adrian had approached his old friends for help and currently this part of L.A. is now a warzone.

We went to the hospital to scout for the third agent, while Rory has his hands full on various patients. Cobb was hacking into the mainframe, who indirectly caused a blackout for a few seconds.

Noriko goes from wall to wall, while I teleport back and forth to see if any intruder tries to come in.

Noriko: *over comlink* No sign of him yet. This is a big hospital, it’ll take time. Marc, any sign yet?

Marc: No, not yet. Where’s Trent?

Cobb: Off the grid for a while. I’ve contracted him and he’ll probably be back. Stay on duty first.

Marc: Mhmm.

Suddenly, an explosion occurs through the comms, and—-

A big whole mess is gonna come. Not sounding good.

Rory: I’ve found him! The agent, he’s here! We’ve got to get him out of here! Now——

*Somewhere unknown*:

“Give me the damn code. The friggin’ location.”

“You ain’t gonna get it.”

“Don’t think about playing with us, say it!”

“Well...it’s ok boys, leave him be. I’ll deal with him...”

I look up and see Mech-Prince, while I’m sitting in this cell, this prison fort of his, captured. At least I’m not that bruised unlike the last time, where I got really hurt. Our group has been formed since three months, and Harrington has been a common enemy of ours since then. He even found out our identity, until—-never mind that part, but long story short, he had some sort of mindwipe, he doesn’t know our identities.

“Blazefire, huh, you’ve really got some nerve.”

“Well, maybe you should turn down that psycho in you a little bit.”

“Listen, I’ve had enough games with you, give me the damn code and location! Where the #^%+ is the agent?!”

“He’s in here with us, would you believe me?”

*cut back to hospital*

Marc: Crap. We’ve been running for minutes, what floor is this?!

Cobb: 15th. Keep moving! His body has to stay, you can’t move him.

Rory: I have to inject him with some doses but now ain’t the time. Hurry, lads!

Noriko: I see men behind those walls...they’re trying to ambush us. We take this route.

I throw bombs at the other wall where the men are heading, and the impact manages to hold them away, as I spray my bullets at a few more rushing in.

The escape route was harder, even if I had to teleport, it would take time as the lockdown by Ironrazor would neglect my abilities to get out of here. Getting through walls wouldn’t do help either way.

Rory: I might know a better path, easy or hard?

Cobb: I could hack an illusion...unless someone is willing to step up for it and hold them off at the same time. We’ve only got 5 minutes to take him elsewhere.

Marc: I’ll go.

My guns are ready as my team escapes, and at the ground I see Barrett there.

Ironrazor: No escape for you, eh, Teleshift?

Marc: Get through me first, f***er.

Ironrazor: What a pleasure.

We both raise our weapons as I hear my team making a escape, and I’m 1 against more than a dozen guys...

Passing through the Polish village of Zbereze on my way to Sobibor, I found myself literally 200 m. from the Ukrainian border, so I decided to stop and take a short path to the bank of the Bug River, through the middle of which the border passes. These trees on the other bank are already Ukraine. In April 2026, this is in the midst of open war against Russia. And remember that from time to time Russian missiles and drones have crossed this border without thinking about legalities...

This photo is part of a trip through central Poland, focused especially on the most tragic moments of the Holocaust and World War II, which devastated Poland like few places, but which at the same time contrasts with the incredible rebirth of the country up to the present day.

The exhibit was built on the site of Weston-super-Mare's dilapidated Tropicana lido, which the anonymous Bristol street artist had visited as a child.

The subversive tourist attraction was conceived as a 'bemusement park', offering a satirical twist on mainstream resorts.

From installations on climate change and consumerism to war, surveillance and the ongoing refugee crisis - for many, the dystopian commentary remains equally as poignant today.

Pictured left to right: Kora "Tree Fell" and Shayla "Ten Eyes"

Kora (Born 714AV) was the daughter of the late Emperor, Talorajhi, and his most famous wife, Huraena. Huraena was the wife of King Barakuhm of Swakura, and the mother of the Sorceress Grazura and the Lost Baby Prince. She was stolen from Swakura after the Attonight conquest in 711AV and gifted to Chief Hashirvan to take as his wife. During her marriage to Hashirvan, she gave birth to Arzulan the Lightning Bolt. In 714AV, Talorajhi commanded Hashirvan to give Huraena to him, and he delegitimized Arzulan. Later that year, Kora was born, though she was such a large baby, that Huraena died in childbirth.

Kora remained large and strong throughout her childhood, and this made socializing with the other children quite difficult. Her father was disgusted with her large stature, so he had his servants and attendants completely ignore her. She grew up mostly in isolation. When Oberajhi killed her father, her life only changed in one regard. Oberajhi began to train her half-sister Shayla, and Shayla wanted Kora to spar with her, so she could improve her skills, but mostly, it amounted to Kora being beaten with a wooden sword while trying to defend herself with a fallen branch.

Kora’s life completely changed when Grazura married Oberajhi and learned that she had a sister. Grazura implored her husband to have Kora formally trained as well. She sparred with Gortok the Orc, as they shared a strength that few others did. Grazura then gave Kora a special task. The Attonight Empire wanted to know the strength of the Northern Kingdom, but it was very difficult to infiltrate. They did know that the North was plagued by bandits, so there was a high demand for hired swords to defend keeps and holdfasts. Therefore, they decided to send Kora as a hired sword in the hopes that she would find herself in the employ of house Blythe. From within their walls, she could report on their numbers, supplies and trade networks, so that the Empire could come up with a strategy for Northern conquest. However, Kora felt as though she was being banished from court to freeze in the North, or die in battle. Her sister convinced her that it was a crucial and honourable task, so Kora agreed.

Kora was instructed to change her identity and build up a reputation in the North before approaching House Blythe. When she got to the North, her first stop was at Eltogar, the seat of House Maine, at the base of the Eastern cliffs of the Frost Gate. She’s defended farmers and other smaller keeps from Northern Raiders and her services quickly became in high demand. A representative from House Blythe contacted Kora in 734AV with a contract to capture or kill a Northern Raider spy that was burning crops and killing livestock near Ice Lake. It was implied that should she be successful; she may be hired to work in or around Thunderhall. She is hesitant to report her findings to her sister, as she is beginning to make a life for herself in the North.

Shayla (Born 714AV) was one of the many children of the late Emperor, Talorajhi. She grew up in the halls of the Imperial palace, and even as a child, her father attempted to use her as a token to barter alliances through marriage. When her half-brother, Oberajhi, killed her father, she was temporarily free from her duty to marry, as her brother settled the discourse throughout the Empire. He told her that he would survey the land and ascertain his greatest allies. He then would present her with a choice of families with which a marriage pact would most benefit his rule. In return for her compliance, he agreed to train her to fight so that she would not be vulnerable to danger in a foreign land.

When she turned 16, the time for her marriage arrived. There was great turmoil in the Empire as Oberajhi had disbanded the Imperial Army and began to engage the Kalaroccan Kingdoms in a guerilla-style war. Shayla wanted to join her half-brothers in their conquest, as she especially looked up to Iman and Tarshik. Shayla used the chaos in the palace to escape Attenor on a supply ship bound for the front lines. As the ship sailed north around the Isles of Sodek into Baron’s Bay, they were set upon by a small ship with a black sail filled with ragged looking Knights. The knights boarded the ship, killed those on board and sailed the ship to the mouth of the Marshes.

When they unloaded the ship, they found Shayla. She told Sir Orzalon that she was a slave trying to escape. When he finished translating to a large brute she assumed was their leader, the brute shook his head and they seized her. They continued to question her about her good health until she confessed that she was a servant in the Imperial Palace. They asked her if she knew where the Emperor’s highest profile prisoners were held. When she paused, Orzalon told her that one of their men was captured by Imperial forces and that if she helped them rescue him, they’d let her go. Seeing no other option, she agreed. She detailed the layout of the prison, the guard’s shifts, and the weak points in the walls.

Her intelligence proved to be invaluable and a month later, the Knights had rescued their friend and she was released with a sword in her hand. She travelled West by rowboat, as the lands around the Storm Hold were a warzone. She arrived at Channelstone some days later, starving and with no money. Three men approached her and pulled knives. Within seconds, she disarmed (and slightly dismembered) them. She only knew one thing about cities in Thronfeld and it was that Marshals were the law, and to bring a wanted criminal to a Marshal would fetch a bounty. That day, her career as a bounty hunter began.

With each passing day, her desire to reunite with her brothers faded. She knew that returning to her home would only mean submitting to a life trapped in a castle as the wife of some Lord. She is one of the most respected and wealthiest bounty hunters in Western Thronfeld, earning the nickname “Ten Eyes” from her ability to always find who she’s looking for.

No one can be certain where either of these warriors allegiances truly lie.

Traveling west of Iligan City i was able to passby some of the warzone areas of Northern Mindanao until i had a stopover at the Port of OzamizCity last friday, i've seen this interesting ship though i'm facing the rear side of it. I'm not so sure of the houses on the other side , they may be squatter occupants of the City. I'm on my way towards the Municipality of Pana-on, Misamis Occidental.

The Punisher debuted in Spiderman #129 (1974!). A vigilante who took it upon himself to rid New York of the masked menace.

Frank Castle is obsessed with avenging the deaths of his wife and two children, who were killed at the hands of the Mob in a botched hit in Central Park.

The Punisher willingly uses murder, kidnap, blackmail or just ugly threats to achieve his mission. He doesn't take prisoners and certainly doesn't accept surrenders!

As a Viet Nam Vet, Frank employs guerrilla warfare tactics combined with expert weapons training, martial arts and vast combat experience.

My Punisher Figbarf will be up in the next couple of days watch this space.

"The conflict in Palestine, which is now in its fifth week, has reached a stalemate. Both the Palestinian and British armed forces have suffered losses; a current estimate places the numbers of Palestinian dead including civilians at 700. The British forces have suffered lighter casualties, a total of 23 UNIST Servicemen and British Personnel since the start of the war. Even so, these numbers are a heavy blow to the British people - more servicemen have been killed in five weeks of fighting than in months during the Iraq and Afghanistan operations of the 2000's. Negotiations between the Prime Minister and Palestinian officials have not yet been concluded. There is discussion of a cease fire to take effect in order to allow the PM and Palestinian Officials to speak in person." - BBC News.

Whelp, not as happy with this one as I'd like to be but it'll do. If you hadn't noticed, try putting together the names of this build and my previous one for Modern Conflict ;)

Also, the description feels a bit too LMG'ish but I couldn't think of any better way to write it.

For Modern Conflict.
