A rainy day with Photoshop instead of camera. For my album "Creativity, Close-up and Macro". Take a look !
One thing I've witnessed about Ants is, similar to how meticulous Spiders are about their webs, Ants are meticulous about their territory. I don't know if this dead Ant was a trespasser or one that had been found dead "in the field" so to speak. Seriously, when I reviewed this the first thing that popped into mind was warzones in the Middle East, the Desert Rats and such. Wildlife is exactly that, wild!
So this is my contribution for the weekend, hope everyone has a good one and so as always, thank you! :)

The Mrs. is off on a quilting expedition, leaving me and the dog to fend for ourselves. It's a high-stakes adventure, a culinary odyssey fraught with peril.
I'm talking about a kitchen where even a microwave feels like a complex, multi-stage rocket. My dog, a seasoned veteran of my cooking attempts, now eyes every single pot and pan with the weary suspicion of a bomb-squad expert.
Honestly, I'm pretty sure the pooch has started a countdown until her mom’s return, convinced we're on a path to a dry-kibble-and-sad-leftovers existence.
In the midst of this gastronomic warzone, I stumbled upon a rose, glistening with morning dew. Perhaps it was a beacon of hope, a sign that we will, in fact, survive until the queen returns from her fabric-filled crusade. So, here you go, a beautiful rose for your troubles.

Battle scars in a warzone and a bullseye aiming ready to shoot with a *BANG!!!*
I love to bring new faces and looks on pictures. I think because each brings another story , another scene and other emotions or feelings in the image.
Special thanks to Samurai for this!!!!
**My connection has been going up and down these days..hence why i'm so silent these days i suppose..Hopefully soon all fixed but i cheer to finally manage to upload a shot!!**

Christchurch’s inner city may still feel like a warzone, but in the years since the quake, there’s been some significant greening going on, and it’s not just weeds filling the cracks. Dedicated planting projects are bringing beauty and purpose into vacant spaces as they await their rebuild.
The gardens, created in line with the wishes of landowners and local communities, range from ‘mini parks’ and simple inner city sitting areas to larger parks, play areas and community food gardens. This simple garden in a wrecked car caught my eye

Bravery is not who has the bigger nutsack and the gull to cause destruction... It lies within the hearts of those who would stand up to oppression and protect their community.
Fawn and I will be Uprising to the occasion. We need heroes right now... and what sense are our giant pew pew collections if we can't whip 'em out once and a while to lay waste to a common pest.

I was running down the road
The fear was all I knew
I was looking for a soul that’s real
Then I ran into you
And that cherry blossom tree
Was a gateway to the sun
And friendship, once it’s won
It’s won, it’s one
Northside
Just across the river to the Southside
That’s a long way here
All the green and all the gold
The hurt you hide
The joy that you hold
The foolish pride
That gets you out the door
Up on Cedarwood
Cedarwood Road
Sleepwalking down the road
Not waking from these dreams
‘Cause it’s never dead
It’s still my head
It was a warzone in my teens
I’m still standing on that street
Still need an enemy
The worst ones I can’t see
You can, you can
Northside
Just across the river from the Southside
That’s a long way here
All the green and all the gold
The hurt you hide
And the joy that you hold
The foolish pride
That sends you back for more
Up on Cedarwood
Cedarwood Road
If the door is open it isn’t theft
You can’t return to where you’ve never left
Blossoms falling from a tree
They cover you and cover me
Symbols clashing, bibles smashing
Paint the world you need to see
Sometimes fear is the only place
That we can call our home
Cedarwood Road
And a heart that is broken
Is a heart that is open
Open, open

Hello friends.. It has been a while and has been a rocky journey to say the least :)
In summary, in case you're wondering about the absence.. I escaped a warzone, thankfully alive and well. I have migrated & have been settling in, hence the long break. I am looking forward to sharing some more art. Hope you've all been well ♥

What do you fight for?
I've asked myself this question several times in my life.
The answer would have changed depending on when I was asked.
Since childhood, I have been trained in weapon combat,
mastering the arts of war.
I've fought many battles for my nation, my people,
until my master set me on the path of Earth.
After long training and meditation, I bound my soul to it.
That’s when I realized what truly matters.
So, what do I fight for now?
The answer is simple:
This world.

One more of the previously posted chase of the NICTD ferry to Dune Park, in fact, a shot that I initially thought wouldn't be posted on here because of how difficult this was to work in post. However, after getting a heads up that one of these happened this previous Saturday, not being able to get out and photograph another gave me the push to sit down for hours with this and try to work something out.
I had decided to skip out on a shot on 11th Street, which has been torn up and resembles an unrecognizable warzone now, to try and get ahead for a shot on 10th Street, which, save for quite a few homes being torn down, had remained -relatively- untouched. In the end, I could have easily made shooting on both streets work, I guess I wasn't considering the fact that 10mph running and stopping at every road crossing across a mile would take so long.
ANYWAY, here is NICD 1001 (with all it's nose light excellence) breaking onto 10th St. after getting permission across the Amtrak Michigan Line. Notice the rather extreme example of the "Share the Road" concept here, vehicular traffic in both directions, and then some. Unfortunately, as is now the case with 11th St., a concept that is very very very close to becoming entirely extinct here in Michigan City.
I am hoping to frame up at least one more move here, as I hear that the pavement pictured here is not long for this world.
Time will tell...
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

Beware of Fanaticism!
Every war is the senseless destruction of lives
in the interests of the arms industry and a few deranged fanatics.
No Kings Protest, Portland Oregon. June 14, 2025.
Olympus AF10, Tri-X
Trump: "When we go there, if we go to Portland, we’re going to wipe them out. They’re going to be gone.”
Seventeen Oregon mayors signed a "joint statement denouncing any attempt to federally militarize the Portland Metro area."
Beaverton mayor spoke, "As a U.S. Army veteran who has served in combat, not only do I know what a warzone looks like; I can assure you Portland is not that. But I also know first-hand the role of the military, and it is not to police our neighborhoods. National Guard units are brave and dedicated, but their training and missions are designed for emergencies and disasters, not for community policing.”
Wilsonville Mayor added, “The real issue here is not just public safety. It is about how power is exercised in a democracy.
We must reject any slide towards authoritarianism, whether it comes from the left or the right. “Public safety is strongest when communities work together; not when they are treated like occupied territory.”
The "radical left" as applied to common citizens and members of the Democratic Party is a construct of the Republican Party (i.e. The Heritage Foundation) and right-wing propogandists (e.g. Fox News). There is nothing "great" about what they are doing to America.

We need guidance from time to time
The guidance can come from cirumstances you are in, or people you are surrounded by
In addition we need to strenghten our intuition to find out what is the right way, not my Ego's way - which is always the easiest way
Strengthen our intuition is not always easy if you are stressed or imbalanced
We need time for ourselves to listen to our within, finding out who we really are, getting to know ourselves also makes you love and respect yourself
How fortunate we are, the ones of us that live in the richer countries, that can take the challenge to grow from within
Not easy to do when you are in a warzone or living in a poor country and your main issue in life is to get water, food and shelter
We often don't know how fortunate we are, because we don't know of anything else - what we see happening to others is not our lives and therefore we don't get it in
Living in it is totally something else
It is not only the news, it's actually somebodys lives
Living in a rich country, as Im doing, gives me this opportunity, and I'm grasping that opportunity with both arms and deep diving into it
In a way I owe it to the ones that aren't so fortunate
Maybe that sounds very strange and egocentric
But otherwise I think I'm wasting an opportunity that I am given
My magic forest truly spoke to me today 💕

Such scenes are hard to apprehend in western culture. Judeo Hellenic devotion to martyrdom is still prevalent in eastern cultures, A mother who has lost part of her flesh is torne between her grief and exuberance about her son's martyrdom, a hero who devoted his life for a "juste cause" so nicely depicted in Tolstoy's War and peace.
