Wapping Station, on the former East London Line, now a London Overground Station on the Windrush Line, with one of Brunel's original Thames Tunnel shafts in the centre which now houses the stairwell down to the platforms.
A unique and wonderful playground - "The idea behind this community project was to create a space where children can take controlled risks while they are playing".
Wapping High Street, Wapping. Tea warehouse designed by F & H Francis and built 1869-70. It was the fist of Wapping's warehouses to be converted to flats in 1970-72.
Left to Right: 1) Aberdeen Wharf (now apartments); 2) Wapping Police Station built 1907-1910 and HQ of the Marine Police Unit (the boats may be give a clue to that fact) and it also houses the Thames River Police Museum but as this is located in a working police building visits by appointment only. River policing was established in 1798. 3) St John's Wharf Grade II listed warehouse which has been converted into luxury apartments (guide price £1,350,00) and lastly 4) Captain Kidd pub with beer garden to its right and out of picture.
The fantastic 1930s red bascule bridge on the eastern side of the Shadwell Basin at Wapping, built to replace an earlier swing bridge.
