i made up 12 little "kits" of wallets, change purses and cell phone holders with various combinations of keys, tickets, change, photos, expired driver's licences, hotel keycards, subway tokens, and depleted gift cards, as well as interesting pictures and some thomas trading cards. T has seen a lot of this before, but there were far fewer objects to look at and i made the mistakes of (1) putting it all in the basket at one time, and (2) hiding jelly beans in some of the pockets. this time i'm offering only three kits at a time, changing out one each night. and no jelly beans! that aspect really spoiled the idea of exploration for its own sake.
Most plastic wallet packagings of the 80s aged very badly. Heat, sunlight, humidity, glue, bad storage etc, for those that were not discarded in the first place. At last we can preserve those games correctly.
Another gift made for my mum - a passport wallet. She is coming with me to Japan next month. I used a lot of Echino fabric in this, & will comment next time to use thinner interfacing for the home deco weight fabrics, as it was hard to sew through. Great design!

I have 3 "things" important in my purse: my card-wallet / my coin holder / my little folder: my identity card, my electoral card (I will need soon!!), stamps and few discount cards.
Cut 2 pieces of the Body of the wallet, 1 piece of the bill pocket, 2 pieces of the inside pockets, 1 piece of the flap.

It's a wallet made from a Dole fruit juice carton.

I did the outside hole first, then lined it up with the inside since when I closed it the two "Dole" sections didn't fully overlap. I wanted the lid to be the "O" in "DOLE".
Time to get another contanier this week.
Btw, this was Orange/Banana/Strawberry and quite frankly, we thought it sucked. It makes for a pretty wallet though and it does smell nice.

So, we have this habit of playing poker, Texas holdem, a limit of 25 chips per round, with 100 chips = $5. You can't win anything above what you put in, but everything above $5 goes to our bank. In other words, we don't have winners - we only have loosers. That means every poker night the bank grows about 5-15 bucks (so far, we have a one-night record of $14.50 loss by a single person).
Once the bank is big enough, we buy vodka and drink it playing poker we do something special - cook fancy food, have some fun eating it and drink vodka (well, we have to drink vodka - we are russians, you know). This time we had about $150 and cooked Chilean sea bass (which is not a bass! did you know?) with mushroom sauce.
The photo. I almost forgot about the photo! Translation: "WALLET. Genuine leather. Made in Italy." That's where we keep the bank money. We had a thief in our apartment once - he didn't know russian and couldn't figure out that we stash our treasures there, so he left take the box intact, but took a $20 bill from our bedroom wardrobe. So stupid of him, he should've learned russian. The actual wallet is long gone, but the box is sturdy enough to survive for about 10 years now.
The bass was delicious. It is in picture, but you can't see it.

Have you ever seen that credit card advert where the booming voice of God asks you "What's in your wallet?". In my case it's mostly videogame loyalty cards...
I made this wallet to replace my old DIY duct tape wallet that was falling apart. I'm kinda glad this one isn't made of tape, as there's no chance my cards'll get gummy from the adhesive.
I freehand cut the stencil and it ended up a bit bigger than the wallet. I hope it reads right anyway. Silhouettes are hard to get right.

9 different fabric combos of my wallets. Each one has a bigger main pocket for money and a smaller front pocket to carry an ID or credit card. The little flap folds over and tucks into the front pocket. They are great for when you only need a few things. I have multiples of every one pictured here. The black heart is a stamp I made.
