A 24 hour mystery.
Saturday evening at about 5:00 PM I was leaving to meet friends for dinner. I discovered that my wallet was missing. I search the house several times. I didn't find it. So I raided the cookie jar for cash and left without it. When I arrived late at the restaurant I told my girlfriends why and they were concerned about the lost wallet. I was concerned about my lost wallet. I continued to search that night and the next day. We checked online for activity on our credit card account and there had not been any ...yet. At around 5:30 PM Sunday I called my daughter and left a message asking her to check Grace's bags that she had taken home from our house on Friday; maybe my wallet had accidentally been put in with her toys. That or I put it in the freezer or someone had taken it out of our car when we went to the park on Thursday, the last day I remembered having it.
Faith returned my call after about a half an hour. "Mom check under the umbrella stand. Grace says she put it there to hide it from you. She said it is under the umbrella table."
And there it was. : )
And that is why one should never worry about such things...just ask your three year old granddaughter where it is.
I guess for the last month she has been hiding things...her dada's eye-glass case and flash drive among other things. I am anxious to tell my girlfriends where it was...the last place I would have looked and the last thing that I thought had happened. It also will be a fun story to tell Grace (along with many others) when she grows up.

I normally don't carry a handbag. My phone has not yet replaced my wallet, unlike many european phones it cannot be used as an ID for billing though it does include a SIM card. These items are always on my body... to put them in a handbag (purse) would somehow feel like putting them in solitary confinement. Punishing them by taking them away from the warmth. How would I feel the gentle pleasing vibration of my phone ringing? how would I 'know' if my wallet had 'gone missing' if I couldn't feel it against my body, soft and warm. Actually there is normally one key as well... I'd hung this up when I came home as is my habit so it wasn't in my pocket when I emptied them to take this picture...
My old wallet was dying a slow and painful death, and then I killed it with wine. Over the years I've made several mockups as a replacement but could never settle on something I liked as traditional patterns never really accounted for cell phones.
So this is what I came up with!
Here is the interior, there is a slot for bills and a pocket for my phone (as well as candy or chapstick). And of course slots for cards!
Bought this fair trade wallet made in South Africa. It's up-cycled from billboard plastic tarp. Also, love that in addition to being fair-trade, a portion of the sale goes to feed starving children through Feed My Starving Children organization. www.fmscmarketplace.org/

My newest handmade wallet.
The color theme is from a hydrangea.
Which is purple and pink coordination.
I also add some flowers lace at the front as a hydrangea.
And inside is a modification from the old one that I made.
I add more card slot and change the coin zipper to the center of the wallet.
Made from a Japanese fabrics in my collection.
