I made this wallet for my friend, Richard. About a year ago he dissed me for carrying a duct tape wallet (I think he called it ghetto). Low and behold, about a month ago, he asked me if I'd make him one. I figure I'll surprise him with a wallet made out of playing cards.

I'll let a reviewer explain why this is a very popular gift: " I'm STILL being thanked for this gift! This is an ideal gift for people like me who make business cards. It's definitely masculine, very classy looking and it's affordable if you want to make a gift of the presentation."

Xander & I are going to Costa Rica tomorrow. There is supposed to be a pickpocketing problem there. So we picked up some thrift store wallets to use as decoys. We put full color pics of tubgirl and goatse in them as a nice surprise. :)

Just over two years old now - my Saddleback Wallet is getting pretty broken in. Still has 98 years to go on the guarantee.
The original idea was posted on eighteen25 blog. They are supposed to be made from a pot holder - but I couldn't find any cute ones - so I just quilted some fabric and made them from scratch.

Joseph Abboud Pebble Grain Leather Passcase Wallet, Black
My new wallet, in brown leather, was purchased at Georg Martinsen in Tønsberg, Norway, on 12 January 2013 and taken into use the same day - replacing my good ol' Mr Wallet.
This interesting little wallet is highly popular. Not sure why they call it a "Magic" Wallet. Maybe someone who sees this can tell me.
These are the contents of my wallet. Currently, I have a tri-fold wallet from Cabela's (yes, the outdoor equipment company) made of...wait for it...kangaroo leather. I'm not crazy about the fact that a kangaroo died so I could have this wallet, but I had a gift card and their other wallets didn't seem as good. I kind of wish it didn't have the Cabela's logo on it, but I love everything else about it.
I consider this my first "big boy" wallet since my previous wallet was made from hemp and had velcro. It served me well (10 years), but it was falling apart. And it felt weird to be a 30-something with a wallet that made a loud ripping sound every time I opened it. I pictured the people around me waiting for a pile of pennies to fall out of it whenever they heard the velcro rip open. Not. Sophisitcated. :-)
I’m not a fan of a wallet so big it gives you double-butt. So, I try to keep as little as I can in my wallet (said the guy with an amusement park season pass in his wallet at all times :-). What’s crazy is how much of what used to live in my wallet now lives on my phone.
I actually have a pair of “distressed” jeans that came with a wallet imprint on one of the back pockets. The best part? It’s on the wrong pocket. I’m a lefty, so the wallet rests comfortably on top of the left cheek, not the right. Silly Gap jeans. I call them my decoy jeans.
(not pictured: the wallet I just spent 4 paragraphs talking about)
