The ruling majesty, the wise old English oak holds a special place in our culture, history, and hearts. It supports more life than any other native tree species in the UK; even its fallen leaves support biodiversity.

Animals by Land has given me a chance to draw a creature I have never seen in the UK. I have seen many Vipers in Bulgaria where they bask in the sun on the mountain pathways. Strikingly beautiful they always choose to get out of your way rather than risk a confrontation ©2018 Alex Morgan All Rights Reserved

"Sterling & Noble" battery-operated quartz movement 11-1/2 inch diameter analog wall clock purchased at Walmart three years ago for less than ten bucks.

Other Household Members were laughing at me this past weekend when I used my "atomic time" wristwatch to set the nine-dollar plastic Walmart wall clock to the exact time down to the second following the switch to Daylight Saving Time.

After six days, I can report that the cheap plastic clock is still running accurately to the second relative to the "atomic time" timekeeping signal broadcast from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Spotted in Hwanghak-dong, a sort of extension of the sprawling Dongmyo flea market. There's a gramophone - likely a repro- and some colorful clocks and phones. Ring-a-ding-ding ;-)

Jap made 8 day power reserve. Strike the hours with a gong. In fact this is the one that kick started my love affair with clocks. Got this from a colleague, not in good working condition. My first intention was to hang it up the wall just for decoration purpose. After some efforts, managed to get it ticking again. I was totally fascinated. From then on, I got my second clock, third....

Only Time will tell and every clock tells a story....

The problem with clock is, once you got two they start to multiply..

It all started when I acquired my first clock a 1960's jap 7-day wall clock from a colleague of mine by the name of Wong Mun Lai, a clock collector

www.flickr.com/photos/lonesomecrow/3975601137/in/set-7215...

It was a non-working clock which I wanted to hang up for display. After a while, I felt something amiss. A clock is not a clock if it does'nt work! So I took it apart and do some fixing, to my surprise I managed to get it ticking again ! I was totally fascinated From there I got my second, third and so on....

My favourite has to be the 400 day clock

Amazing time piece and fun to repair Next in line is those of the electromechanical design type

I love the working principles

At the time of writing, my collection is still growing....but has grind to a halt as my interest is now focus on nature photography

Yesterday evening I was laying on the floor, playing with the dog, when I looked up sort of backwards and saw my pendulum wall clock from a different angel. Since I had my trusty Nikon in hand--I shot it!

Hand held at 0.5 sec. using my forehead as a tripod - no flash.

This is the Wood White, it's the smallest white butterfly of the British Isles and like all our butterflies it's in decline. Some people consider seeing a white butterfly good luck! Wow! I was amazed by spoon & forks clock at the Bacchus restaurant (Grand Cayman), and now it's happened to me to find almost identical clock in Canada. Of course, I got it and I am happy to have this cute thing of my own.

Test shot with Nikon D700 + Carl Zeiss 100mm f/2 Makro Planar T* lens, ZF.2 mount. Shot at f/2.0.

This is a wall clock, taken from a distance of about six feet (2m). Rolex makes huge clocks for Swiss train stations and other upscale public buildings and places, but not for homes. They make clocks like this for their dealers for display in watch stores, but they are not for sale. Occasionally somebody sells one on ebay. Short of becoming a Rolex dealer, that's the only way of getting one of these beauties.

The Zeiss MP 100/2 is a wonderful lens to photograph “things” – anything big or small that is reasonably static, so accurate focusing and creative composition are possible. Its 100mm focal length provides a very nice reach, its fast f/2 allows available light shooting for natural looks, and its macro capability allows getting very close to the subjects.

I don’t think I’ve had so much fun shooting up a wide variety of “things”, including and not limited to such things as Coffee, Cauliflower, Books, Paintings, Clocks, Sculptures, Rocks, Shoes, Pens, Fax machines, ChapSticks, Coins, Watches and Thumbtacks.
