A 1950's/1960's wall clock purchased at a thrift store: Produced in the style of an 18th/19th century ormolu cartel clock, this mid-20th century remake has an interesting German-made automatic SELF-WINDING mechanism that is battery operated.
This elegant 26" diameter wall clock features an ornate frame with a decorative acanthus leaf molding finished in Misty Beige. The aged, crackled dial offers black Roman numerals and black hands. A glass crystal protects the dial and hands and is powered by a quartz, battery operated movement.

Here is all the original packaging.
It still has the guarantee and list of authorized service centers. The clock was still in the plastic and the cord remains wrapped with a twist tie. I liked the design on the box.
Haven't found any date on this one, but it has a model number: A006 which might be helpful in tracking it down. The brochure has some graphics of other products that sure look to be from the late 50's or early 60's so I'll start there..

Original clock creation performed using metal laser cutting technology and painted thanks to an electrostatic powder coating process. This is the clock that is behind the desk in the lobby of the LAPD North Hollywood Police Sation. It's a little blurry, because I was actually shaking after being questioned by an officer outside the station about why I was taking pictures. It's funny how intimidating that is even when you are not doing anything wrong. Interestingly, the same officer gave me permission to take pictures in the lobby.
