Animals by Land has given me a chance to draw a creature I have never seen in the UK. I have seen many Vipers in Bulgaria where they bask in the sun on the mountain pathways. This is the number one, most popular wall clock in Infinity Arts history. Deep crimson and metallic plum with swirls and a lovely worked, fired copper center. What a sweetheart.
Artist: Justin Potts
Dimensions: approx. 18"x22"
Based on traditional Turkish flatweave patterns the design is made up of an interlocking 'Gul' or 'Guz' which represents protection against evil while the double triangle motif means 'marriage' ©2018 Alex Morgan All Rights Reserved
The actual clock mentioned in the book, Louise: Louise Klassen Matson's Flight to Freedom (from Russia) as told to Margaret Anderson. This heirloom was taken with the family as they escaped from Russia in the 1920's. It was to be used to sell for emergency money should the need arise. Fortunately it didn't and survives to this day!
I just finished making this clock this morning. I had seen a similar clock many years ago and have thought about making it for a long time but didn't have a lathe that could handle the large diameter top which in this case is 15.5" (39 cm). I only had the photo to go by so I just measured it for the proportions and did what was necessary to make it look the same. The movement is a Seiko quartz unit rather than mechanical like the other clocks I've built over the years. I'm hoping it will be really accurate and maintenance free. I made the dial of a good quality poster board with a Masonite backing and used India ink for the numbers and other markings. The movement is attached right to the back of the dial and it's made so that I can slide the whole shebang out from the front to replace the batteries - I won't have to take it off the wall and remove the back to do that. I etched "Regulator" into the glass because I'm not that good at gold leaf work - you can't see it as well but that's OK.

This is the clock that is behind the desk in the lobby of the LAPD North Hollywood Police Sation. It's a little blurry, because I was actually shaking after being questioned by an officer outside the station about why I was taking pictures. It's funny how intimidating that is even when you are not doing anything wrong. Interestingly, the same officer gave me permission to take pictures in the lobby.
The Wallclock is not from the Fifties. It´s a Russian U-Boat-Clock with a mechanical 8-Day-Movement, which runs very exactly. Those Watches are still in Use on Russian U-Boats.

Forget-me-not on the riverbank. These are the footprints of Lutra lutra, the European Otter, our native species here in the UK. Sadly I have never seen one, footprints may be as close as I ever get to this elusive creature.
I'm so fed up with scraping mud out of my house that I intend to replace the furnishings to co-ordinate with it. You can now have mud on anything or EVERYTHING and no need to clean up! It's going to save a bunch of time.

We've been to Aldeburgh twice now; both times it's been a lovely sunny day and the skies have been full of stunning cumulus fluffy clouds.
Hungary, Zsennye, Mansion of Bezerédj family.
The first mention says it was a manor-house in the Middle Ages, then it was rebuilt in1867 from renessaince and baroque styles in a romantic style. Still renessaince window remains can be seen on some walls. Today it's a workshop for artists - mainly for painters and musicians, with ateliers and instruments like pianos, though also used of authors.
A Bezerédj-kastély középkori udvarházból épült ki (ezt késő reneszánsz részletek is tanúsítják) barokk stílusban a XVIII. században. Romantikus stílusban 1867-ben alakították át. Kertje védett. A falu szélén, mintegy 14 hektáros park közepén álló kastély tulajdonosa a XIX. század elejéig a Sennyei, azt követően a Bezerédj, majd a századfordulón a Békássy család volt. Ma a Magyar Alkotóművészeti Közalapítvány Alkotóháza.
