Animals by Land has given me a chance to draw a creature I have never seen in the UK. I have seen many Vipers in Bulgaria where they bask in the sun on the mountain pathways. Strikingly beautiful they always choose to get out of your way rather than risk a confrontation ©2018 Alex Morgan All Rights Reserved

Spotted in Hwanghak-dong, a sort of extension of the sprawling Dongmyo flea market. There's a gramophone - likely a repro- and some colorful clocks and phones. Ring-a-ding-ding ;-)

Jap made 8 day power reserve. Strike the hours with a gong. In fact this is the one that kick started my love affair with clocks. Got this from a colleague, not in good working condition. My first intention was to hang it up the wall just for decoration purpose. After some efforts, managed to get it ticking again. I was totally fascinated. From then on, I got my second clock, third....

Only Time will tell and every clock tells a story....

The problem with clock is, once you got two they start to multiply..

It all started when I acquired my first clock a 1960's jap 7-day wall clock from a colleague of mine by the name of Wong Mun Lai, a clock collector

www.flickr.com/photos/lonesomecrow/3975601137/in/set-7215...

It was a non-working clock which I wanted to hang up for display. After a while, I felt something amiss. A clock is not a clock if it does'nt work! So I took it apart and do some fixing, to my surprise I managed to get it ticking again ! I was totally fascinated From there I got my second, third and so on....

My favourite has to be the 400 day clock

Amazing time piece and fun to repair Next in line is those of the electromechanical design type

I love the working principles

At the time of writing, my collection is still growing....but has grind to a halt as my interest is now focus on nature photography

Inspired by the cyclops watch from Mr Jones Watches (http://mrjoneswatches.com/html/cyclops.html) I set out to create my own prototype.

Using a cheap IKEA clock, I printed a new face and taped it over the old one.

The colours were chosen using the In Rainbows equation to convert a string to an md5 hash, then take the first 6 hex digits. Those are the values for "01:00", "01:30", ..., "12:00", "12:30". I don't think I would personally choose those values, but I went with them anyway to see how they look.

I like the idea of waking-up at about royal blue o'clock.

Yesterday evening I was laying on the floor, playing with the dog, when I looked up sort of backwards and saw my pendulum wall clock from a different angel. Since I had my trusty Nikon in hand--I shot it!

Hand held at 0.5 sec. using my forehead as a tripod - no flash.

(It is 5:45 p.m.)

This is the Wood White, it's the smallest white butterfly of the British Isles and like all our butterflies it's in decline. Some people consider seeing a white butterfly good luck! I took the office clock off the wall and gave it a "University of Edinburgh" re-vamp. Claire and Carol in the office love it. I also did one for the main teaching lab :-)

Wow! I was amazed by spoon & forks clock at the Bacchus restaurant (Grand Cayman), and now it's happened to me to find almost identical clock in Canada. Of course, I got it and I am happy to have this cute thing of my own.
