I'm guessing that this is an apartment, that of the FBI photographer. Did she not put art work and photographs up on the walls because she wanted her security deposit back? Is this photograph purely documentary, or is there emotional content that we can tease out if we just think hard enough?

Yea.

My clock madness continues. Found this on the way to work last week when someone threw it out. Still works and just needs a fresh "D" battery.

I think it dates to the late 70's.

Our new mid-century wall clock we found at the local flea market.

The New Hostess by General Electric.

Model 2F02 1934-1941. This basic style had the longest run of any design in the GE/Telechron range. Designed by Edgar Bourquin, it was first introduced in 1930 as the Hostess with model number AB454, a thicker case and a B rotor. In 1934 it was reintroduced as the 2F02 New Hostess with the thinner F rotor and discontinued in 1941 with the outbreak of war. It was re-reintorduced in 1947 as model 2H02 with a plastic back and crystal and remained in production until finally being discontinued in 1952. (info from the net)

Today's estate sale purchase, a bit high at $30.00 but it is in near mint condition. No fading or crack. The light green case sparkels'. The back plate is molded silver plastic. The Red Dot pops up when the power is cut off and it has a new 8 foot long cord. Runs good & whisper quiet..

My parents Westclox Rainbow Electric Wall Clock that they received as a wedding gift in 1959 still going strong in more or less the same position an impressive 55½ or so years later.

The Westclox rainbow clock colour ring seen here in red also came with interchangeable rings in yellow and blue but these have sadly been lost in the intervening years.

I've estimated since this clock was installed the second hand has rotated around the face some 29,242,080 times, the minute hand has rotated some 487,368 times and the hour hand has rotated about 40,614 times..

Note the 1950s/1960s 'MK Electric' hardwired socket.

Broad Street is in the historic centre of Bristol, An area famous for having many characterful old pubs that from the times of sailing ships to present, sold vast quantities of fine sherry imported from Spain. Try Bristol Milk, or Bristol Cream.

Voronezh is a city and the administrative centre of Voronezh Oblast in southwestern Russia straddling the Voronezh River, located 12 kilometers (7.5 mi) from where it flows into the Don River. The city sits on the Southeastern Railway, which connects western Russia with the Urals and Siberia, the Caucasus and Ukraine, and the M4 highway (Moscow–Voronezh–Rostov-on-Don–Novorossiysk). In recent years the city has experienced rapid population growth, rising in 2021 to 1,057,681, up from 889,680 recorded in the 2010 Census, making it the 14th-most populous city in the country.

From 10 to 17 September 2011, Voronezh celebrated its 425th anniversary. The anniversary of the city was given the status of a federal scale celebration that helped attract large investments from the federal and regional budgets for development.

On December 17, 2012, Voronezh became the fifteenth city in Russia with a population of over one million people.

Today Voronezh is the economic, industrial, cultural, and scientific center of the Central Black Earth Region. As part of the annual tradition in the Russian city of Voronezh, every winter the main city square is thematically drawn around a classic literature. In 2020, the city was decorated using the motifs from Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. In the year of 2021, the architects drew inspiration from Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale The Snow Queen as well as the animation classic The Snow Queen from the Soviet Union. The fairy tale replica city will feature the houses of Kai and Gerda, the palace of the snow queen, an ice rink, and illumination.

Found this 13" wall clock today. Looks like a pocket watch. Others I have seen online have a chain attached. Darn.

A model by United Clock Corp. - the date on the inside of the case indicates it was made in October, 1957.

The metal cleaned up nicely and it keeps very good time!

Forget-me-not on the riverbank. These are the footprints of Lutra lutra, the European Otter, our native species here in the UK. Sadly I have never seen one, footprints may be as close as I ever get to this elusive creature.

I'm so fed up with scraping mud out of my house that I intend to replace the furnishings to co-ordinate with it. You can now have mud on anything or EVERYTHING and no need to clean up! It's going to save a bunch of time.
