Tired of wondering where to find these things called "chocolate wafers" that appear in recipes from time to time, I came up with these, which work perfectly. (They're free of animal ingredients and refined sugar).
After searching for these elusive chocolate wafers for years, I was so excited when I saw them on the shelf at one of my local grocery stores. I've been wanting to make Martha Stewart's famous Chocolate Mint Icebox Cake forever and now I finally can.

Publicity postcard photo. Doubtful that three wafer ovens would be in sync. Wafers just don't fall off the plate. No stacks of wafers on the table and the lady at the cutting saw on the right, has just one wafer and not a stack as in any factory at this stage. In fact I don't think a single wafer sheet can be cut without it shattering. No wafer sheet will come off the plate without the bubbles of batter hanging off the sides that need removing by hand in this era and the subsequent pile on the floor or in a container on the floor to catch them. INGREDIENTS
Crust
2 cups crushed Nabisco Nilla Wafers
2 tablespoons sugar
5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Orange filling
5 egg yolks, beaten
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup Minute Maid pulp free frozen orange juice concentrate
1 Valencia orange juiced and zested
PREPERATION
Crust
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Stir together crushed Nabisco Nilla Wafers, sugar, and butter in a bowl until combined well, then press mixture evenly onto bottom and up side of a 9-inch (4-cup) glass pie plate.
Bake crust in middle of oven 10 minutes or until golden brown and cool in pie plate on a rack.
Leave oven on.
Orange filling
Beat 5 egg yolks with hand mixer. Add one can condensed milk to beaten egg yolks in a bowl. Mix until combined well. Add 1/2 cup thawed Minute Maid pulp free frozen orange juice concentrate. Mix until combined well (mixture will thicken slightly). Zest and juice one Valencia orange. Add juice and zest and mix well.
Pour filling into cool crust and bake at 350°F for 13 minutes. Cool pie completely on rack (filling will set as it cools), then chill, covered, at least 2 hours.
SERVE
Top with a dollop of whipped cream, and ENJOY!

Pahiyas Festival is a colorful feast celebrated every 15th of May by the people of Lucban, Quezon in honor of San Isidro Labrador. It is the farmers' thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest with a grand display of colorful rice wafers, fruits, vegetables, and handicrafts adorning every house in the town.
I went on a shopping spree and bought anything that looked cute. Unfortunately, this is the only thing I haven't already eaten the entire box of.
they are like kit kat only way better and they have them in the plain old regular drug store here! in boston i used to have to go to the lindt store and in tucson i could not get them anywhere.

Kismet is a Finnish chocolate wafer bar launched by Fazer in 1974. It's made of crisp wafer, filled with nougat and covered with chocolate. The word Kismet doesn't mean anything in Finnish, as far as I know.
This is not how I remember Kismet, though. I don't like the new wrapper. The older one was so much cooler and close to the original one. Haha, some of you may remember these things are important to me!
