Strobe photography using a single Einstein Strobe with a 24" Westcott collapsible beauty dish attached. I took several shots and combined them in Photoshop using the "LIGHTEN" blend mode on all layers except my base layer, I then put a black layer mask and then painted (revealed) the light exposure in for each exposure.

Sitting in a junkyard in the middle of nowhere, the remains of a bug. Too many parts missing now, added blue light to the interior and white light on the outside.

Not the best of composition, cut off on the left, but just as I was composing fire ants attacked my left hand and I didn't dare to move further to that side.
I love old VW bugs. My friend had one in college, a convertible, and we had all manner of crazy adventures in that thing. We fit 8 people in that car. We fit 3 people plus 30 pumpkins, 4 bushels of apples, and a few jars of apple butter in that car. I miss the days when there were more of them on the road, and whoever saw one first would yell, "Punch buggy!" and punch anyone near them. Followed closely, of course, by, "No punch backs!"
Ahhh, those carefree days of random, VW-induced violence... it's almost enough to make a gal get all teary-eyed. ;-P

Guess with this bug, I'll be sliding into Sunday soon... HSS style!
I don’t ever recall these decos on VW bugs / beetles in Canada or the US. Maybe the insignias (icon & script) are on VWs made for Germany’s market. Anyone know?
