If you ever wonder where the old VW Bugs went to, you can find many of them in Mexico. We found this one in San Miguel de Allende recently. This is processed in the spirit of Sliders Sunday. HSS!
The Bug! 1960s Volkswagen Beetle, AKA The VW Bug for obvious reasons. I like this color blue on this particular car and love that old rack on top.

E' considerata, insieme alla fiat 500, la citroen 2cv, la Mini, una tra le auto più diffusa sulla terra.
Ha detenuto a lungo il primato di auto più venduta nel globo, con 21.529.464 esemplari, attualmente detiene il record di auto più longeva del mondo: considerando i vari stabilimenti in cui è stata assemblata, risulta prodotta per 65 anni.

Whenever I want to test new weathering techniques I find one of these pull-back toys and have some fun. The first one I did I made a neat smashed windshield look and a salt-resist repaint into blue. For this one, I wanted to play with washes. I tend to do a lot with spot rust but not rust washes. So this hood has had a lot of washes applied.
I also wanted to experiment with a texture to rust. I've managed to do it by accident before; this is the first I attempted to create it on purpose.

Another Volkswagen Type 1 ‘Beetle’ found abandoned and neglected in the wilderness on the Ionian island of Kefalonia, Greece. This example was a later-spec model from the 1970s, based on the modern dashboard layout (most of which had been stripped). Having donated many parts, including almost all its fenders, this battered Bug’s days are numbered. Although, there’s a chance this car could still be sitting in this exact same spot ten years from now. Maybe even longer. When scrap rates are high, the Greeks cash in on weighing stuff in just like everyone else. However, for whatever reason, some vehicles are left behind for much longer after others meet their fate.
