On my recent trip to Turkey, elections were going on. This guy's picture was plastered over everything so I'm sure he must have won. When I was in Edirne for two nights, he delivered a campaign speech about a block from my hotel one evening.

If you are one of my Turkish followers, please tell me about the election results.

I'm back! In the comment section vote for a car company and I will upload one of my new cars from that brand. The company with the most votes I will upload a car from it soon! I do not own any of the logo pictures.

This is a "blind ballot box" that was used by Hose Co. No. 3 for silent votes taken of the membership. Black and white marbles were kept in the open end. Dropping a white marble into the hole signified a supporting vote, while a black one signified a “no” vote.

Because in some cases a single black ball could determine a vote, having been voted down by a single dissenting vote came to be known as bring "blackballed." In many instances (including this specimen), the black marbles were replaced with black cubes so that a dirty white marble could not have been mistaken for a black one.

If you vote for Pedro, your wildest dreams will come true.

Here I am wearing a 'Vote for Pedro' shirt just like Napoleon wore in the classic, Napoleon Dynamite. Quite possibly the most brilliant movie ever made.

This shot was taken by a three year old pot of mouldy anchovy paste, which had developed into a rudimentary but sentient life-form. It informs me it will be voting Conservative in the 2010 UK election.

Update: The pot has been appointed secretary of state for agriculture and fisheries

Parliament has been promised a meaningful vote on the Brexit deal. But what, exactly, is Parliament being asked to decide? And what happens if Parliament votes the deal down?

At our panel discussion Raphael Hogarth, Research Associate at the Institute for Government, presented key findings from Voting on Brexit, the Institute for Government’s new paper on Parliament and the Brexit deal.

The paper sets out what the Government has to do in Parliament to get its deal though, and give effect to the withdrawal agreement in domestic law. It also identifies a number of risks to the timetable.

The vote, the politics and the constitutional implications was discussed by our panel:

The Rt Hon. Dominic Grieve QC MP, Conservative MP for Beaconsfield and former Attorney General

The Rt Hon. the Baroness Smith of Basildon, Shadow Leader of the House of Lords and Shadow Spokesperson (Northern Ireland)

George Parker, Political Editor, Financial Times

This event was chaired by Dr Hannah White, Director of Research at the Institute for Government.

Protestors opposing fracking gathered outside Parliament, on the day the Infrastructure Bill is voted upon. If passed unamended the bill will allow the widespread use of this controversial method of extracting shale gas, over-riding existing environmental protections.

The protest was joined by Green MP Caroline Lucas, activist Bianca Jagger, and designer Vivienne Westwood, and was organised by Friends of the Earth and other environmental groups.

A petition signed by over 360,000 people opposing the legislation was presented at the House of Commons.
