One of the fine trees that line the beautiful Helford river. The spiral shape really appealed.

I have been building transformers lego models for two decades now, constantly growing my collection, there were always one thing left do figure out.

How to build a combiner ?

We all know the limitations through weight on our models versus what we would want from certain bricks and their clutchpowers.

Bruticus and the combaticons were on my wishlist for a long time, so i have been working on those models over the past months, first working out each individual character and then the combine mode.

It needs still a support stand, which also serves as display stand, just to keep the weight up, he is very heavy, standing tall around 60cm.

More here

This is taken above a busy car park in Hong Kong's famous harbour city. The non-stop traffic flow creates a vortex of lights, color and urban living.

I managed to guess the celestial pole (the center of the spin) from one the previous shots at this same location here. It was a bit of a wild guess.

Kane has some awesome tips on finding the pole here. Also while you are there, check out his star trail shots, some of them are amazing.

Amazingly, the design of my Vortex motorcycle came together very quickly and with very few revisions! In fact, the only major change to the structure was early on when I decided to flip the front assembly upside-down so that the gas tank would have a stud on top instead of a cavity shape. This also allowed the exhaust/kickstand to be attached underneath.

These are just some WIP images of some minor things that I tried to add to the bikes, but ultimately did not end up using on the final versions.

1 - This was the first time i added a front "fairing" piece to the bike. It is some oddly-shaped mini-fig helmet visor. It was incredibly hard to mount in that location because it kept breaking. i later discovered that it fits better when flipped around. This first version shows the visor piece pinched upright in a more angular sort of way. It looked good, but was not strong enough to consider a reasonable connection. Flipping the visor over later allowed for a more visible "air scoop" behind the front wheel.

2 - Obviously I could not find a way to connect it, but I feel like a clear cheese plate would've made a great addition for a front windscreen. This really made the bike look like it was from the eighties!

3 - Another experimental headlight using a gem piece. It was just comically large so I tossed the idea away. I also tried mounting a tooth/fang piece in the front clip to make a front fender, but it looked kinda overly futuristic and ugly in my opinion.

4 - Simply used 1x1 plates with holes in them for wheels. These actually looked amazing in my opinion. i only decided not to use them becasue I already was using yellow wheels on the red bike and I wanted to have a bit more variety. Sadly I do not have these plates in any other color. I preferred the red bike to use technic bushings for wheels so they did not end up there either.

Holy crap! Look what I found at work today! I guess this is what I get for working on my day off. MADNESS!!!

In lieu of a new Vortex issue (will prob come out in the next few days), have a Vortex Volume 1 fig-barf!

GMA - The coolest grandma around. Not not not very perceptive, or is she!?!? Ambulance driver. Like 67 or something, just retire already, jeez.

Vortex - Everyones favorite construct swinging, portal opening, hooded vigilante.

Clockwork - Evil madman. He uses his immense knowledge of clocks to do evil? Always has something truly evil up his sleeve. Very evil.

General Howser - A seemingly normal 4 star general. Howser is secretly caught in a web of lies, but could he be the spider?

Pyrotechnic - Not-so evil man who was picked off of the street to become a lab rat. The end results of the tests were fire powers and serious mental problems. Did I mention he is in a coma? (see Vortex #1)

My latest piece. A brooch called " Vortex "

It is magnetic so won't pierce any holes through your fabrics.

The central piece is wafer thin which is a newly devised method which allows me to create very thin pieces which are totally strong and reliable.

"Vortex"

These dunes were so incredible that I decided to return a few times and spend several days exploring them. Even so, I scarcely made a dent. After realizing how much I loved the way Fuji Neopan Acros 100 film renders light, shadow and texture in the desert, I decided to prioritize the black and white film images over color on future trips. This is from one of those trips. While hiking up a very large dune, I found this hole near the crest that had inexplicably formed up there in the side of the otherwise normal dune crest. In the sharp light shortly after sunrise, the sun made the inside of the hole appear black, and the wind had created these beautiful ripples cascading out away from the opening, causing it to look like a mysterious whirlpool or portal opening. I love the way the black and white film makes it look all the more mysterious and ominous.

Lmao... I have no idea! Link was just moving so fast that he looks like his head is in a vortex, haha.

Vortex was a steel roller coaster at Kings Island in Ohio. It opened on April 11, 1987.

Vortex debuted as the tallest, full-circuit roller coaster in the world with a height of 148 feet. It was also the first coaster to feature six inversions.
