Coral Short asked to curate my work in a garden exhibition after finding my work tagged "craftivism" on Twitter.
I have made 6 cobweb doilies and 3 lace covered NZ river stones for the show.
Influenced by traditional doily making, lace work, crochet, and Voronoi tesselations.......order and chaos.
Patterns in nature. An example of a Voronoi Tessellation (like the shapes seen on a giraffe or in the wings of a dragonfly). Boolcoomatta Reserve.
Snow Voronoi Wall at LEA 9. A wall ( 16 x 256 x 256 ) made with physical Random Steiner tree structures by SL gravity.
这个。。。
This photograph was taken during the first half of the Columbus Crew's game against New York on April 7, 2012. It forms the basis of the next two photographs, which analyze each team's formation using Voronoi diagrams.
Playing with the Hemesh and Convex Hull by Lee Byrons library. Starting Point is the Hemesh Voronoi example. The voronoi cells are subdivided and then slices of the vertices are sent to the convex hull algorithm.
They are abviously inspired by jtnimoys awesome work for the tron movie.

Android game prototype involving realistic car engine simulation (torque curve, fuel consumption map, etc.) and automatic terrain generation based on Voronoi space division.
my partner-in-art-crime requested a voronoi mug. pretty obviously freehand and not properly calculated, but...close enough.
This is the beginnings of a business card I'm making for a client. He does acupuncture so the concept was to use a voronoi diagram with a gridfont to create a mesh that was similar to synaptic movement/action. It came out rather similar to the Processing logo...
drawing motion voronoi graph driven by flocking behavior of agents, and to find a kind of stochastic pattern.

A picture of me generated on a flat screen TV that is part of Daniel Shiffman's "Voronoi". The longer I stood still in front of the camera, the less fragmented and distorted the picture on the TV screen became. Taken at the Grounds for Sculpture in June 2011.
From the NY Times Review of the exhibit:
"Daniel Shiffman’s “Voronoi” (2008), a screen connected to a camera that captures the viewer’s image and turns it into tessellated, mosaiclike fragments based on the mathematical Voronoi diagram. That the image comes into greater focus the longer a viewer stands in front of the work accounts for some of its appeal. On the whole, however, it is a fairly simplistic version of interactivity and technologically enhanced portraiture."
