This sums up many things about Britian. Poor planning, ill concieved high handed thinking, corpate ego. The outcome is that this building has not been used as fully in the 25 years I have known this site. This is a town that the council did not want to be linked with Siena due to the fact that, Siena was linked to the past, and this town was going forward.
The casting of the tailstock was pretty rough, really. You can see the remnant of a surface void, at what was the join between the cope and drag during the casting process. There was a worse one on the far side, too.
The resulting flaws were ground down somewhat in the factory prior to painting, but they did a pretty slapdash job of it. I wasn't for hiding it with filler and all that nonsense; I just painted over it.

First version of “Into the Void”, a series of audiovisual installations exploring physical structures creating light and shadows with immersive audiovisual spaces.

A array of triangles is placed on the floor, each one has a LED strip on the back which are connected to an Arduino. On MAX, series of random numbers generators and different probabilities trigger a signal to each triangle, making it turn on or off. Max communicates with the Arduino through Maxuino.
At the same time that a triangle is triggered a MIDI message is sent to Ableton Live and plays notes on a MIDI Instrument and an OSC message is sent to Processing for the Visual output.
Following versions will explore new possibilities as different shapes and materials, and interactions with the visitors through sensors.

“In so far as one denies what is, one is possessed by what is not, the compulsions, the fantasies, the terrors that flock to fill the void.”

I HATE MY FAAAAAAAAAAACE
i'm so freakin' unphotogenic
and i'm a self-proclaimed photographer
isn't the world a great place full of sad facts of life?
thankfully i get told i'm attractive enough times to make me not totally hate my face (i hope i didn't sound full of myself right then >_>)
but
gah
i wish i was photogenic like the rest of flickrrr xD
dude, i have so much to be thankful for right now and i'm absolutely terrified of losing all of it. just saying.
i have amazing friends now that i just met about a week and a half ago that i hang out with almost every day now
and they mean the world to me
i have parents who trust me and give me all the freedom i want now that I'm eighteen and have my own car
i volunteer at a place that i love, working with little kids
the teachers there tell me i'm really good at it
but i hate that bit of doubt i constantly have in my mind that i'm NOT good at it
even though i love it so much
i'm having the greatest summer of my life
i'm scared it'll all go downhill for some reason
...that giant spider i just saw a second ago isn't there anymore CRAP
i'm tired of ranting. bed time. bai.
Tiled hotel void. Puli, Central Taiwan. All the atmosphere of an empty swimming pool. The only rooms now used are on the 8th floor.
