BNSF’s Cody local approaches Vocation, Wyoming, on June 24, 2016. Vocation was a siding and station on the CB&Q’s line to Cody near the Heart Mountain Relocation Center, a concentration camp used for internment of Japanese Americans evicted from the West Coast Exclusion Zone during World War II. At one point, it had a peak population of 10,767, making it the third-largest "town" in Wyoming before it closed on November 10, 1945. Today’s local is four cars and a caboose powered by two former Burlington Northern SD70MACs, and is bound for the connection with the Casper Subdivision at Frannie.

- Around 1750, colonists from the neighboring parishes of L'Assomption, Mascouche and elsewhere began to settle in the territory which became Saint-Roch-de-L'Achigan in 1787. Mainly a green zone, Saint-Roch-de-L'Achigan therefore has an important agricultural vocation, characterized mainly by growing vegetables. Mont Saint Michel is a small rocky islet, roughly one kilometer from the north coast of France at the mouth of the Couesnon River, near Avranches in Normandy, close to the border of Brittany. It is home to the unusual Benedictine Abbey Church (built between the 11th and 16th centuries) which occupies most of the one kilometer diameter clump of rocks jutting out of the ocean.

It is connected to the mainland via a thin natural land bridge, which before modernization was covered at high tide, and revealed at low tide. Thus, Mont Saint Michel gained a mystical quality, being an island half the time, and being attached to land the other : a tidal island.

In 708 the Archangel Michael appeared to Aubert, Bishop of Avranches, and commanded him to build a chapel on the top of Mont Tombe, a rocky island in the middle of an immense bay. Overawed by this apparition, Aubert obeyed and built a sanctuary to the glory of God and Archangel Michael.

Throughout its long history, Mont Saint Michel has had many roles. First a religious sanctuary with its monastic communities, it became a place of worship with its immense pilgrimages, a centre of intense academic activity with its production of manuscripts and illuminations, a symbol of national resistance with the glorious feats of arms of its knights and a formidable prison when the priests were ousted in the French Revolution of 1789, putting an end to the religious vocation of Mont Saint Michel.

One of the many occupational hazards that I come across from time to time when I'm out in nature are dangerous creatures like this Crocodile.

There I was, happily walking along the stream and whoooaaahhhh there it was!

Luckily for me it was of the friendly variety and even agreed to me balancing a few stones on it's snout and giving it a pine cone headdress, as long as it got a feature on Flickr.

So here we are. I lived to tell the tale and post the photo. Phew!

Sydney Grammar School (SGS, colloquially known as Grammar) is an independent, fee-paying, non-denominational day school for boys, located in Sydney, Australia.

Incorporated in 1854 by an Act of Parliament and opened in 1857, the school claims to offer "classical" or "grammar" school education thought of as liberal, humane, pre-vocational pedagogy.

- Tu pourrais me l’interdire ?

www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxSKnznvVpk

Naz is one of my closest friends. We went to the University of Western Australia and studied Medicine together. We were both older than the others in our year, though Naz does not at all look her age :)

Naz is one of the most cheerful, happy and positive people I know. She was part of my closest group of 5 - along with Dave, Mel and Fairuz. On reflection, I realise that all but me were born in Malaysia, though most lived in Australia for most of their lives.

All of us chose to be in the same clinical mini group in our clinical years (4-6) and Naz and I were often placed in the same pairings or micro groups of 3 or so. We shared happy times, stressed times, coffee times and laughing times. We learnt a lot about medicine, Perth and life together.

We all lived pretty close by so would often hang out after uni, or on weekends. Without Naz and the rest of these guys, I don't know how I'd ever have felt at home in Perth, and got through medicine. They really were my family.

And they still are. I respect these guys immensely, and still feel the intensity and quality of my kinship with them, no matter than one of us is in Kuala Lumpur, one in Melbourne, and the others working in different specialities in different Perth hospitals.

It's when we come together that it's beautiful. The joy is still there. The love. The mateship. The ability to just crack jokes and know where each of us is at and laugh about it.

These guys were there for me daily; we helped each other grow through a gruelling course and vocation.

Good luck for your upcoming physicians (RACP) exams Naz. You're gonna ace them, and you're a great doctor for your experiences and great bubbly personality.

Cheers for the great times. Cheers for great friendship. And here's to many, many more years of it! :)

Even this picture, like the previous one, will be part of "reportage / story" I have in preparation entitled “Stolen Innocence”.

The child is taken up at a shelter for abused children and, unfortunately, he has been mistreated by their parents who forced him to beg on the streets and at the end of the day if they did not fit a set amount was beaten and left for fasting punishment.

Now it's much better approached in a religious order whose intention is to study to become a priest to help many children.

I again reiterate my warmest thanks to the always friendly tutor who were kind and affectionate that I shall continue to highlight the love with which they carry out their commitment to these children and a special thank you also and especially to Mother Sister Serafina.

Improvvisa vocazione

.

Uno strano sogno mi avvolge,

s'impadronisce della mia anima,

ma improvvisamente sento vivere

in me una voglia ardente.

in quella vita vissuta male, in quella gioia

tanto pretesa, ma, mai avuta.

Il mio sguardo incupito adesso trova

uno spiraglio, una nuova luce,

quella grande luce dove i pensieri assillanti,

strazianti oramai sono....assenti.

Sudden vocation

.

A strange dream surrounds me,

she takes over my soul,

but suddenly I feel alive

a burning desire in me.

My eyes are vague, lost, but

no longer want to touch my hands

darkness, this darkness that have already embraced

for so much, for too long ...... i have suffered.

E 'wet past so many tears,

my heart is no longer what it once

in that life lived badly, that joy

as alleged, but never had.

My eyes darkened now, share

a crack, a new light,

that great light where the troubling thoughts,

harrowing now I am ... ... .... absent
