The National Disabled Veterans TEE Tournament is the brainchild of several employees of the Iowa City VA Medical Center, along with two visually impaired Iowa Veterans. These visionaries created the TEE Tournament, an acronym standing for TRAINING, EXPOSURE and EXPERIENCE. In 2008, it became one of six VA national rehabilitation programs for Veterans. The event expanded to include not only blind Veterans, but amputees, wheelchairbound Veterans, and those with other life changing disabilities. It takes place each year in Iowa City.
Visually Goose Fair is adorned with amazing artwork which possibly gets overlooked. In 2022 I created a short video focusing on it, check it out!

These series of photos were taken 28 Sept 2023, the day before the official opening of the fair. People were busy making final adjustments to rides, checking electrics, stock of foods, drinks, gifts and so on.
The Nottingham Goose Fair is an annual travelling funfair held at the Forest Recreation Ground here in Nottingham. This year, 2023, it runs for 10 days, usually it's 3 days.

Prominent footballers, coaches, international experts and representatives from sport organisations and clubs came together for the launch of ‘A Ball for All’ – a project to promote access to the practice of football for blind and visually impaired people.
The launch event, which was organised by Save the Dream, took place at Aspire Zone on the occasion of National Sport Day.
Run in collaboration with the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), Sasol, under its Definitely Able initiative, Qatar Social & Cultural Centre for the Blind (QSCCB) and Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF), the event featured French ambassador to Qatar Eric Chevallier, Qatar Sports Club and former Inter Milan player Luis Jimenez and legendary international coach Bora Milutinovic.
My Portfolio: Print Awareness Campaign
This print campaign – which includes a poster, postcard and booklet – was created to raise awareness about Celiac Disease, a prevalent hereditary condition that is widely unknown and undetected in America. If carriers of the disease remain undiagnosed, they can develop a host of other serious health problems as a result, some of which can be fatal.
The objective of this campaign was to visually demonstrate how commonly this disease goes undetected in America, using red acetate to illustrate the invisibility of this condition and color coordinated figures that demonstrate the human ratios of those affected by the disorder

Being visually literate means to see poetic meaning in even the smallest and most pedestrian on details. We are surrounded by object D'Art at every moment. Life is incredibly poetic, however our eyes are veiled in the patina of ephemeral and transitory external events.
The Drums of Africa is a visually expressed personal guidance system. Our ancestors have documented the lessons of life into profound proverbs that can be easily remembered and referred to in our approach to everyday life. The series
displays these proverbs as typographic compositions combined with tribal forms found in South Africa’s folk
arts and crafts. In fact, symbolic elements from the intricate beadwork of the Bantu-speaking tribes, the refined basketry of the Zulu, and the highly coloured, bold, geometric forms of the Ndebele, ordain the fragile hand-drawn Helvetica typeface.
The result is a combination of contemporary type,
decorated with traditional silhouettes. Upholding the lessons and motivations of African culture, the compositions serve as daily affirmations and motivations.
The original oil paintings are on display at Kozi’s : Meet ’n Eat, an African inspired restaurant in Athens, Greece. A limited edition of signed prints have been created to accompany the work and are also available online at www.dimitratzanos.com
The most colorful and visually spectacular valley in Yellowstone, Wyoming is the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. Two large waterfalls occur along this stretch of the river - the Upper Falls and the Lower Falls.
The rocks of the canyon include rhyolite lava flows, rhyolitic volcanic tuffs, and some sedimentary deposits - all are geologically young and date to the Quaternary.
The yellows, pinks, reds, and oranges indicate the presence of hydrothermally altered rocks. Hydrothermal metamorphism refers to the intense alteration by superheated groundwater. Yellowstone has over 100,000 hydrothermal features in the form of hot springs, geysers, fumaroles, and mudpots.

Intention: I wanted to capture the bubbles in the bowl in a visually appealing way, while drawing the eye eventually to the middle of the image.
Reading: Freeman says circles "contain" things placed within in them and draw the eye inward. Here I tried to use the circles to draw the eye inward to the center.
Outcome: I think I executed my vision and was able to make the bubbles in the water feel "otherwordly" or abstract.
Edits: Decreased color balance for "cooler" tone, slightly increased exposure, increased clarity, clone stamped a few distracting black marks in the bubbles, cropped, increased blacks and shadows.

Goal: Visually explain the content of our Christmas series
Audience: Mostly whole congregation; we'll have flyers w/ info on the back they can hand out to their friends.
Direction: The title of the series (Who who who) was inspired by one of JCPenney's marketing campaigns but once we planned out the series content, we took it in a different direction. We wanted it to be simple, but I wonder if it is too simple right now.
Project: Key art for Christmas sermon series
Other important info: Not quite a finished project, but it will be by tomorrow afternoon. The phrase "Who is Christmas!" is on purpose; the series will explain that we have made Christmas a "what" and gotten wrapped up in everything that surrounds that "what," but it is really about a "who."
I couldn't find a good manger scene so I used the lasso tool and paint bucket to make my own that was inspired by polyholly's piece (http://www.flickr.com/photos/phoshmo/5199777346/), which is totally awesome.

A visually striking plate, and Duffy’s third dish which paired a 118°poached-then-chilled-then-carmelized only on one side sea scallop with variations of tapioca (puffed and dusted with hibiscus salt, hibiscus-soaked tapioca chip and licorice-y Sambuca soaked tapioca balls), hibiscus (salt and beet-red hibiscus syrup) with toasted goats milk puree and licorice-flavoured elements (shaved fennel bulb, stalk, fronds and hoja santa leaves). Duffy explained that his use of the chewy tapioca balls (the type found in bubble tea) was not just for texture, but utilizing the unique component as a carrier of licorice-y Sambuca in a chilled scallop plate.

This visually-simple multiplayer game is a surprisingly competitive tank warfare simulator. The tanks move quite slowly and can fire only one shell at a time. As a result, positioning is crucial.
Showa Period 昭和 (1926 – 1989)
One of the most visually complex pieces in the display, this kimono consists of layer upon layer of various weaving techniques to produce the garment you see before you. The entire background consists of a very fine diamond weave that is punctuated by a small circle within each diamond. The base of the kimono is actually white, but the tight black base weave makes it appear as grey! From there a bevvy of chrysanthemums are embroidered along the hem and sleeves starting with the same black layer that comprises the background. From there an additional gold layer is added in to make the piece sparkle and shine. From there many of the chrysanthemums are hand painted with gold or white hues done with a paste resist. To finish it all off real gold was painted on top of it all to make it that much more luxurious. This is easily the most expensive kimono to produce as all of the gold, both in the threads and the paint, is real 24 carat gold. The paint itself is extremely rare on kimono as it's very time consuming and far more expensive than gold leaf, but it just goes to show the beauty that money really can buy.
This kimono wasn't even supposed to be in the display as the one that was didn't arrive in time, but thankfully I had this one on hand as it was originally going to be used for the mannequin. I actually wrote up the description for this one at the convention and had a staff member pick up the printed copy for me while we were still setting up on Friday.
I really like this piece, but it's covered in stains. Hopefully one day I can get it dry cleaned. The obi itself is a geiko obi of fairly high quality, so I thought that it would pair well with this kimono ^^

Visually, this sign is of almost no merit and to think how lovely the sign was that used to hang here.
