Yahoo! today upped the ante in consumer-centric mobile design by launching a new version of the company’s mobile home page in early beta at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2008.
Today’s announcement further extends Yahoo!’s mobile leadership by providing consumers with a visually-stunning and easy to navigate interface for the most visited mobile site in the U.S. (M:Metrics, October 2007).
By visiting beta.m.yahoo.com from select mobile phone browsers, consumers will experience an open and customizable home page where users can personalize their mobile experience like never before, drawing content from the Yahoo! network and leading Web properties from around the Internet.
Yahoo!’s new mobile home page was designed to quickly become the essential starting point for the mobile Internet. Incorporating the best “home page” elements from pioneering PC portals such as My Yahoo! and the Yahoo.com Front Page, it embraces a dynamic, open and highly personalized approach.
“Today we set the standard for what consumers are demanding from the mobile Internet. As the definitive starting point for mobile users around the world, our new home page is beautifully-designed and optimized for the mobile device,” said Marco Boerries, executive vice president, Connected Life, Yahoo!. “As we’ve done before, we’ve set an incredibly high bar for the industry with our innovation and ability to deliver prolific services to millions of global mobile users, helping them discover what a truly compelling mobile Internet experience should be like.”
Key features include:
Personal Vitality and Status Updates - Provide an at-a-glance update of what’s new since the last visit – including recent emails, Flickr photos from your friends, upcoming calendar appointments and status of Yahoo!
Messenger contacts – all without moving away from the home screen or logging into a separate application.
Customizable Content - Offers a collection of mobile content modules known as Yahoo! Snippets that provide previews of the user’s favorite content from any source - news headlines, weather conditions, and more – whatever the user wants.
Quick Links - Customizable links at the bottom of the page, providing fast access to the Yahoo! services and other sites across the Internet that consumers use the most. Consumers can easily add and remove quick links as they desire.
oneSearch - Mobile search designed to give instant answers and relevant information by understanding the user’s query intent and optimizing the results accordingly. Recently upgraded to include content from Wikipedia and Yahoo! Answers, as well as airline flight status information.

Schopenhauer’s philosophy visually explained (as far as I understand it with my limited knowledge)
The empirical consciousness is like a glass with many facets.
The world of perception – or rather the (human) perception of the world – is like a glass with many facets.
Space, time and causality are properties of the empirical consciousness, not of the world, the world substance, the thing-in-itself. They are the modes of human cognition.
As a glass with many facets divides the object into many separated objects, space, time and causality divide the world substance, the will to life and reproduction, into many separated individuals and many separated individual wills. The causality divides into subject and object.
Space, time and causality are mere illusions caused by human limitation, by the limitation of the empirical consciousness.
Any individual has an object/subject mode.
An object cannot exist without a subject and vice versa.
There is no bridge between the world as representation and the world as idea. Man cannot transcend the glass with the many facets or the Veil of Maya. But he can get a glimpse of the world behind the glass or veil by means of aesthetic contemplation, compassion for the suffering of his neighbor and finally by an ascetic way of living.
A glass with many facets – extract from Schopenhauer’s “The World as Will and representation” where he wonders over the plurality and yet the uniformity of the world:
If we start from the knowledge of the particular, and not from that of the Idea, there is something astonishing, and sometimes even terrible, in the absolute uniformity of the laws of nature. It might astonish us that nature never once forgets her laws; that if, for example, it has once been according to a law of nature that where certain materials are brought together under given conditions, a chemical combination will take place, or gas will be evolved, or they will go on fire; if these conditions are fulfilled, whether by our interposition or entirely by chance (and in this case the accuracy is the more astonishing because unexpected), to-day just as well as a thousand years ago, the determined phenomenon will take place at once and without delay. We are most vividly impressed with the marvellousness of this fact in the case of rare phenomena, which only occur under very complex circumstances, but which we are previously informed will take place if these conditions are fulfilled. For example, when we are told that if certain metals, when arranged alternately in fluid with which an acid has been mixed, are brought into contact, silver leaf brought between the extremities of this combination will suddenly be consumed in a green flame; or that under certain conditions the hard diamond turns into carbonic acid. It is the ghostly omnipresence of natural forces that astonishes us in such cases, and we remark here what in the case of phenomena which happen daily no longer strikes us, how the connection between cause and effect is really as mysterious as that which is imagined between a magic formula and a spirit that must appear when invoked by it. On the other hand, if we have attained to the philosophical knowledge that a force of nature is a definite grade of the objectification of will, that is to say, a definite grade of that which we recognise as our own inmost nature, and that this will, in itself, and distinguished from its phenomena and their forms, lies outside time and space, and that, therefore, the multiplicity, which is conditioned by time and space, does not belong to it, nor directly to the grade of its objectification, i.e., the Idea, but only to the phenomena of the Idea; and if we remember that the law of causality has significance only in relation to time and space, inasmuch as it determines the position of the multitude of phenomena of the different Ideas in which the will reveals itself, governing the order in which they must appear; if, I say, in this knowledge the inner meaning of the great doctrine of Kant has been fully grasped, the doctrine that time, space, and causality do not belong to the thing-in-itself, but merely to the phenomenon, that they are only the forms of our knowledge, not qualities of things in themselves; then we shall understand that this astonishment at the conformity to law and accurate operation of a force of nature, this astonishment at the complete sameness of all its million phenomena and the infallibility of their occurrence, is really like that of a child or a savage who looks for the first time through a glass with many facets at a flower, and marvels at the complete similarity of the innumerable flowers which he sees, and counts the leaves of each of them separately.

The Nystagmus Network Open Day was held in Reading on the 7th May 2016. Over 170 people attended the event to hear about the work at the charity and latest research into the condition.
Visually the Centurion was nearly identical to the concurrent Buick LeSabre, featuring different badging & grillework, minimal chrome trim, and marked by an absence of the portholes usually found on big Buicks. Body styles included two-door and four-door hardtops, and a convertible. There were no pillared sedans.
The Centurion was offered initially with only the 455 in³ big-block V8 in two power output ranges determined by the presence of either a single or dual exhaust. In 1973 a 350 in³ small-block V8 was the base powerplant with the 455 as the optional powerplant in either of two power ratings. The '71 Centurion produced 315 hp (235 kW) @4400 rpm and 450 ft·lbf (610 N·m) of torque @2800 rpm with the base 455. In 1972 the industry switched to SAE power measurement, meaning that instead of horsepower being measured on the engine alone, it was now rated with all accessories and a full exhaust system installed. For 1972 and 1973 the rating for the 455 was 225 hp (168 kW) @4000 rpm and 360 ft·lbf (490 N·m) of torque @2600 rpm, while the 350 offered 195 hp (145 kW) @4000 rpm and 290 ft·lbf (390 N·m) of torque @2800 rpm.
Total Centurion production was 110,539 units, including 10,296 convertibles. With only three years of production, the Centurion had one of the shortest model runs in modern Buick history. After 1973, it was replaced by the LeSabre Luxus, as the market turned away from sporty full-size cars.
Today, we look at Figma 387 - Widowmaker, from Overwatch.
Widowmaker is the resident brainwashed Ballerina/Assassin from the Overwatch universe. Her backstory is quite fascinating, as I learned from watch Deathbattle on Youtube, and the resulting character design is visually appealing to say the least, probably my second favourite next to Pharah.
The box comes decently packed. You get the figure, an additional single open eye expression, a "visor down" piece, her signature Sniper rifle, parts to change that to its short range mode, a Venom Mine, a replacement left forearm for her grappling hook, a variety of hands, and of course the standard Figma stand.
Her overall silhouette is effectively what you'd expect from a trained Ballerina - lean. Detailing on the outfit is pretty much bang on what promotional material have shown me. The Figma has a torso that is too slender, as well as too much neck coupled with too small of a head. As a result, she looks kind of stretched vertically, so much so that I think she's really out of scale with Tracer, as from what I've read they're maybe 6 inches of height apart.
Having said that, her overall colour scheme lends itself quite nicely to the type of toy photography I normally like to do - single flash so there are spots of well lit coupled with shadows. Furthermore, her face plates appear to be spot on, and it appears that Good Smile Company has used that digital face painting technology that all the cool kids have rather than decals, which I guess improves the accuracy as well.
From an articulation perspective, Good Smile Company has augmented the standard Figma body to allow Widowmaker to properly wield her Sniper rifle. You get ankles, single jointed knees, hips, mid torso, shoulders, single jointed elbows that permit rotation above the joint, wrists, and neck. Widowmaker was also given pull down hips to improve range of motion there, as well as the ability to pull the shoulders such that, as mentioned above, she can properly pose with her rifle. There is also a point of articulation at the base of her pony tail to allow for the hair to be posed.
Paint is not an issue, as expected, and is sharp all over the body. Smooth consistent paint applications coupled with sharp masking for crisp edges, along with good detail highlights where applicable. Nice use of mixed finishes (glossy for the purple, semi gloss/matte for everything else). The same digital paint technology used for her face seems to be used for the tattoos on her right forearm.
Finally, there's build quality. The only real issue I have is that the visor doesn't always want to stay in its socket, which seems to be an issue I have with Tracer. Otherwise, beautifully finished parts with no visible seams or rough edges, coupled with a well made body featuring strong joints, proper limb lengths, and plastics that allow the aforementioned paintwork to shine.
So overall, another well executed Figma, with proportionality issues that are not exactly unique to this series, or even this product line on the whole.
Should the opportunity arise, I certainly wouldn't mind adding a few more choice Overwatch designs to the collection, most notable being Pharah and Mercy.
Visually styled after a generic sedan, no make and model in particular. Seats three.
This is one of my favorite angles for it since it nicely shows off the sweep of the front fender.

Torpedoes are not the most powerful weapons of the fleet (see mass-cannon) but they are cheap to produce and the recent discovery of the fredium greatly help to miniaturize missiles.
The TREBUCHET carries 12 seminuclear class torpedoes, 8 void ones (creating medium size black holes that last 20 seconds) and 4 nano-cloud torpedoes (being able to quickly dismentle ennemy ships or repair minor damages on ally fighters). It's equiped with a high velocity gatling and two rear automatic light laser turrets for self defense.

A visit to the Schuylkill Mall, 11/8/14
If the quality of this picture wasn't horrendous, you could actually see the slotted wall I was trying to photograph. I really need to get an actual camera.
*This is my very first attempt at documenting a shopping mall. Armed only with a 4th generation iPod Touch, the quality didn't turn out as well as I expected and the general framing and composition of the shots suffered in some areas. I hope to both get better equipment and sensibilities to continue doing this.*
