dance-music-visual meeting in improvisation, where the instant happening on the stage materializes on three levels – by sound, movement and drawn line. This project was created in Czech-Netherland collaboration between two dancers, two graphic designers and two musicians. Together they focus on the research of how to capture “a moment” happening on the stage while shared with an audience.
The specialty of project Arthuur is a mechanical machine developed by the team of graphic designers in collaboration with the dancers. The machine is attached to different parts of the dancer’s body and in this way is able to write down all his movement by a pen on the paper. The machine can register the special extremities of the movements, speed and dynamicity. Each registration is however unique, since it depends on many other factors as position of the rest of the body, a slight inclination of the pen or elastic pulled too hard through a rough movement.
Arthuur develops, by his own will, rather as a site-specific project; he animates various places and register their way of being. He likes to react on different environments and architectural and spatial definition.

Buenos Aires, 20 de Septiembre de 2013 - Se llevó a cabo la inauguración y entrega de premios de la 102.º edición del Salón Nacional de Artes Visuales en el Palais de Glace, de la Secretaría de cultura de la Nación.
En el acto, participaron la directora nacional de Política Cultural y Cooperación Internacional, Mónica Guariglio; y el director del Palacio Nacional de las Artes, Oscar Smoje, el director nacional de Patrimonio y Museos, Alberto Petrina, entre otras autoridades y personalidades de la cultura.
Las distinciones fueron: Gran Premio Adquisición en la categoría dibujo para José Alberto March, por su obra "Iconoclastas"; en escultura Gran Premio Adquisición fue para Carola Zech por la obra "Magnético 208" y Gran Premio Adquisición en pintura para Marcia Schvartz, con la obra "Toma de la Belgrano".

These works are life casts, made of uku (clay) from my home in the Far North, Matauri Bay. We come from the earth, I am mana whenua, and this pure porcelain is ‘owned’ by foreign nationals who deny access and my link to the land, customary rights of use, heritage, and Maatauranga Maori, which are foundational to my identity and autonomy.
The work as a whole is an attempt to bridge the distance inherent to written language via an interactive and dynamic exchange of information, triggered by living presence, made visible by light. We have backed the casts with taa moko, maaori designs made under the guidance of Heramaahina Eketone. Taa moko is the most relevant system of communicable information to our junctures as Maori, in a colonial landscape. Taa moko is a reclamation of the façade.

La revista étapes: diseño y cultura visual presenta trimestralmente una mirada global e internacional sobre el diseño y la cultura gráfica haciendo especial hincapié en la diversidad y la riqueza de los entornos español y latinoamericano.
Tras la experiencia de la edición francesa (1994) y de la edición internacional (2004), la versión española desea aproximar a los lectores a una comprensión transfronteriza y transhistórica de la cultura gráfica, sin ignorar lo específico del contexto local. Cuatro números al año con artículos que no caducan y cuyo interés va más allá de la inmediatez y de la tendencia.
El diseño gráfico, de producto y tipográfico, la ilustración, la fotografía, la publicidad y la creación audiovisual son algunas de las diversas especialidades que aborda la revista a través de artículos de fondo ampliamente ilustrados. De esta forma, étapes acerca todas aquellas disciplinas relacionadas con el diseño y la cultura visual a profesionales, estudiantes y aficionados.
Con este proyecto, la Editorial Gustavo Gili quiere eludir el voraz ritmo de renovación impuesto a los productos del mercado editorial. Así, la revista nace con vocación de libro y con voluntad de permanencia frente al consumo volátil, ya convertido en norma, de los productos culturales.

étapes es una revista para profesionales, estudiantes y público general interesado en diseño gráfico, ilustración, fotografía, creatividad, tipografía, publicidad, diseño de producto, marketing, edición web, dirección de arte, diseño multimedia y todas aquellas actividades relacionadas con el diseño y la cultura visual.
Secciones
La sección Actualidad ofrece una panorámica sobre trabajos realizados desde distintas disciplinas, como el arte urbano, el cartelismo, la comunicación, la edición, la fotografía, la ilustración, la identidad corporativa, el packaging o la señalética, entre muchas otras.
La sección Fondo&Forma trata en profundidad temas de cultura visual a través de reportajes profusamente ilustrados y centrados en torno a nombres propios del diseño, estudios o proyectos concretos.
Y, por último, la sección Texto(s) publica reflexiones sobre diseño y cultura visual por medio de ensayos, entrevistas, artículos de opinión y reseñas de libros.

LOS PADRES NATIONAL FOREST (January 2, 2018) -- California condor chick #871 spreads its wings to the sun. Biologists with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and The Santa Barbara Zoo went in search of the chick after the Thomas Fire came close to its nest. Biologists were able to get a visual on the bird, and though she has some singed wingtips, seems to be in good health. Both parents, California condors #206 & #513 continue to care for the chick, and biologists will monitor the bird’s progress as it joins the Southern California flock of wild condors.
