Australian Magpie (Gymnorhina tibicen) female
I was in the back garden with the macro lens on when three female Magpies flew in to search for worms/grubs. This one was more interested in food than the bloke with the camera and came close enough for me to get a shot with the macro lens.
[Having returned home and as we inch into late Fall and Winter with no plans for extended photo trips until next year, I resume uploading the rest of my selected photos from 2020 (10 per day, usually in the morning CET), as well as a selection of my current, 2021 photos (usually 3 or 4 per day, in the evening CET).]
The Gers is a small part of the region of Aquitaine, which covers most of southwestern France. On July 2020, we rented a house for three weeks in the Gers area, and commencing today, I will upload a selection of the photographs I took while we were there. I hope you will enjoy them!
As usual, I will caption more specifically in bold type below whenever necessary.
A July landscape in the Gers. Summer thunderstorms are not infrequent in that area!
On these photowalks I noticed a lot of benches had commemoration plaques for people who passed, for who these were their favorite viewpoints. Maybe it is like in physics, that everything is energy, and so I daydreamed that those who passed could come back to their favorite spots again and again through energy. Or maybe I'm a reincarnation of someone who loved this spot and are unconsciously enjoying it again. Or maybe you are a reincarnation seeing this photo and enjoying this spot?
Maybe reincarnations aren't necessary, just simply incarnations of humans who enjoy the same things in a similar way? When we enjoy similar things, we are taking care, validating, and commemorating those who have passed and carrying on those traditions as long as there are eyes to see.
All our favorite spots, things, and people are an extension of the overall love we potentially have. It is a part of the energy of the universe and hopefully it continues on.

Took a day trip to Cambridge for a little bit of sight seeing :D

Mr. Bluebird perched in the Honeysuckle growing above the nest. Waiting patiently to trade places in the nest with Mrs. Bluebird. The nest was about 30 feet from the back of the house. I wish I could get them to use the nest every year. Thanks for visiting.
I assumed this is a butterfly in the fritillary family, but I am not a butterfly expert. It just visited when I was taking pictures.
One of my favorite top down subjects is the Spiral Jetty up on the northern end of the Great Salt Lake. This earthwork project is best seen from the air to give visitors a full view of the strange shape of this earth work of art.
Got it! No need to give me that stern look. This is YOUR domain and I'm just passing through. I understand–er, MISTER Raptor of Old Man River. I know you spotted me a mile away. I'm not going to disturb that breakfast duck you spotted or the big catfish making a splash. I'm just a fly on a wall. My camera doesn't even click anymore. It's silent. I'm not going to disrupt you.
Note: I am near the southwest Kentucky / northwest Tennessee border visiting certain spots in and around Reelfoot National Wildlife Refuge. Frankly, I'm not certain what side of the border this spot is in.
The red admiral settled for a few moments and the woman in pink strode purposefully through the shot.
