The village of VĂk is the southernmost village in Iceland, located on the main ring road around the island, around 180 km by road southeast of ReykjavĂk.

Here you can see the winter pens where the sheep are held during the season. Outside of winter they are allowed to roam free and graze.

Probably my favourite place in Iceland is the beach at Vik with its huge crashing waves. I tried to simplify it into 3 layers.

On our last day in Iceland we did the South Coast Tour ... heading south towards Vik, the southernmost town on the island ... passing through a very different part of Iceland.
This is Vik ... the southernmost town in Iceland. Here we stopped for lunch.

Vik. La cittĂ piĂ¹ piovosa d'Islanda. Nonostante sia a sud.
Quel giorno ha piovuto venti volte. Venti volte è uscito il sole. Venti volte avremo visto venti arcobaleni. La nostra macchina si trovava sotto la pioggia; quella dietro, 50 m piĂ¹ in lĂ , aveva il sole che spaccava il parabrezza.
Su questa spiaggia sono andato in avanscoperta io. Pioveva. Gli altri non avevano voglia di bagnarsi. Dieci minuti prima dello scatto il cielo era grigio. la spiaggia è IMMENSA, dispersiva. Un rumore avvolgente si onde e vento mi hanno impacchettato per bene. Fantastico. Le onde, anche se non sembra, sono alte, a riva, tra i due ed i tre metri. La macchia bianca alzata dal vento, vicino all'arco, sarà almeno 5m. Le proporzioni svaniscono. Il tempo rallenta. La mente respira. Vik...
