Sunrise at Panorama Point in Badlands National Park, SD.
Just returned home from a week-long road trip to Bozeman, Montana where we made stops at the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, Badlands National Park, Devils Tower in Wyoming and Yellowstone National Park. Frigid conditions, perhaps the coldest I've ever experienced, but an amazing adventure to some of the most beautiful parts of the US.

Always looking for those sunsets anywhere I go. This time standing in Tower Bridge waiting for the Sun to hide behind one of the buildings. Due to the nature of this photo, I had to take an HDR again of it, just to get enough details of the boats in front of me because I wanted to get the correct exposure for the background and foreground. I hope you like it.
Thank you all for your appreciation.

Lake Minnewaska at Minnewaska State Park Preserve, covered in snow after a winter storm dropped several inches on the upper Hudson Valley.
As we close out another year, I'd like to show some gratitude for the beautiful world around us. We live in a very special place, the Hudson Valley, and have the opportunity to enjoy the ever-changing beauty of the seasons just beyond our doorsteps. It is a privilege that we should never lose sight of.
I'm also grateful for my health, without it I wouldn't be able to experience these amazing places which make life worth living.
Lastly, I'm thankful for having the ability to share my travels with all of you. For me, if it inspires just one person to #optoutside and enjoy and preserve nature then that is something that I could be proud of.
Best wishes to a happy and healthy New Year!

Thank you all for your wonderful response to my last photo. I've been shooting a lot lately, but concepts just don't seem to be working out as best as I'd like. I've tried to take more time to sketch out the ideas I have in my head, rather than rushing into a shoot straight away. With that in mind, I'm hoping to take some time next week to go out and shoot some of these concepts. For now, here's something I created last week.
I was recently interviewed by "Viewbug". In the interview, I shared some behind the scenes details on some of my shoots, some plans I have for the future + advice for other photographers.

Sunrise from Popolopen Creek in Highlands, New York looking south towards the Hudson River.
The colors of spring often take a back seat to fall color but are equally compelling in my opinion. I've scouted this location many times waiting for the right season, conditions and lighting, and do think the feeling that I had in mind comes across well in this version.

Beautiful location for one of our portraits. This is taken in the funicular rails in Lisbon. The tram goes up and down every 10min so in between transits you have some time to jump in and take some nice pictures.

A Chevron Gas Station in Eldorado Canyon Ghost Town. Located off Route 165 in Nelson NV. Some late night photography with a mini-maglite under a bright moon. A 3 shot HDR image for more detail in the shadows.
It was a long time since I did any HDR photography. So with this shot, I needed a longer exposure than 30 seconds to get the light painting in because the camera was farther from the subjects. Thus, rather than the traditional exposure blend of 3 various exposures, I did 3 exposures with different parts of the scene light painted. One for the light painting on the ground and pumps. One for the blue lights building, and the last one for the red filter and inside the building.

Today Kristy, Charity, and I went to see the movie "Lucy" then went out to a local farm here in Skagit County called Snow Goose Produce Market. Kristy was craving bubble gum ice cream for a while and they had just what she needed.
The bokeh in this shot reminds me of a watercolor painting.

Leaning temple of Varanasi
From this angle, it is not obvious that this temple is leaning. A view from the water would show the angle better, make itin fact, it is partly submerged in the Ganges river.
This partly submerged temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is situated at the Scindia Ghat, in Varanasi
According to a legend, this Shiva temple was built by a king named Man Singh for his mother ‘Ratna Bai’ as repayment for everything his mother had done for him. Ratna Bhai did not like the idea, though. She cursed the temple saying nothing could repay what a mother does for a daughter or son. Due the curse, the temple leaned to eventually sink.
