Sunrise from Popolopen Creek in Highlands, New York looking south towards the Hudson River.
The colors of spring often take a back seat to fall color but are equally compelling in my opinion. I've scouted this location many times waiting for the right season, conditions and lighting, and do think the feeling that I had in mind comes across well in this version.

Couldn't leave the city without taking a picture of one of the most iconic symbols of the city, Brooklyn Bridge. This picture was taken from the DUMBO using long exposure and a tripod and loads of layers of clothes as it was really freezing. Hopefully we managed to take really good shoots with my friend Jed.

Devils Tower was the first declared United States National Monument, established on September 24, 1906, by President Theodore Roosevelt. It is a laccolithic butte composed of igneous rock in the Black Hills of Wyoming.

Sangam ( Confluence point )

The Zanskar is a north-flowing tributary of the river Indus.
Nimmu is a beautiful valley that marks the confluence of the Indus River and Zanskar River.
The Indus River drains the dry and deserted terrains of Ladakh's landlocked valley and serves as its lifeline.
Zanskar, on the other hand, is a tributary of this river and merges into it from the north-eastern direction. On its way to the meeting point, the river passes through the spectacular Zanskar Gorge, which is a dream destination for city trekkers.
In summer, tourists flock tho this areas, making rafting trips, typically from Chiling to Nimmu.
In the winter season, when the road to Zanskar is closed by snow on the high passes, the only overland route to Padum is by walking along/on the frozen river, a multi-day hike that is now sold as an adventure activity called the Chadar ('ice sheet') Trek

Now and then you come across a landscape scene that just feels meant to be a photograph. It's almost as though everything is precisely placed creating flow and interest from foreground through to the background. It all just seems to work together.

Sunset from a small island in The Narrows section of Lake George in the Adirondacks.
This area gets super busy during the day with motor boats, but can be quite tranquil at the beginning and end of the day. Luckily we were camping on one of the nearby islands so getting in position for sunrise and sunset wasn't much of an issue.

One friend told me: "Kostas, you see many people have a nice time in different activities. Night sky is my thing!". Looking at the night sky, clears your mind and lift your spirit. Once you are out there you are where you supposed to. Near the stars. Tha 'fashion' has it that having fun means computer games, clubs, bars, movies. But in the real world these thing just drag you away from your equanimity. I have many people that reprove my opinion, but one thought travels my mind..."They haven't seen the stars, they haven't seen their home. Wish they will!"
In the photo I found these nice rocks, looking at East-South, that were partially submerged in the sea. So I sat still for 30 seconds and I got this nice portrait! Hope you like it!

Southern view on Mount Taurus in Cold Spring, NY during sunrise.
Composition, in my opinion, is one of the most important components in creating a successful photograph, and one that I'm always working to improve on. It's essentially organizing or arranging the elements of a scene to portray the feeling of the moment. In this case, it was about the rapidly moving clouds, continuously transforming the landscape with various shapes of light and shadow. My compositional approach, using the foreground rock to lead into the valley below, not only gave the image depth but reemphasized the feeling created by the cloud movement.

After I finished shooting my timelapse sequence, I had enough battery to shoot some static frames. Regarding that I have a 50mm lens, my only way to get a proper shot was by creating a panorama. So I shot five vertical frames with 70% coverage and stitched them in Photoshop. Hope you like it.

This is Maragogi beach in Brazil. I'm never tired of this fantastic view with the combination of greens and blues. The picture is as close to reality as possible without the addition of filters. I also brought my gear into the water just to take a better picture (never do this if the water is brave),
