Second Best "52 Weeks Project"
Since I have been joining the 52 Weeks Project on Flickr it has happened several times that I had to chose between two or more self portraits that week. A difficult choice. The solution is to create a set of all good alternatives. Life is full of choices and sometimes a week has too much opportunities. This is one of those alternatives, the second best. And sometimes just as good.
The year 2020 is the year of working from home and communicating with the outside world from home. Via Skype, Facetime, Teams, Zoom, Whatsapp and Whereby. A positive side effect of Covid-19....

Coordinates: 52°20'26" N 4°57'0" E
Reason: This self-portrait was taken on the day I was interviewed by Paul Haenen on the online program from the Betty Asfalt Complex in Amsterdam. The interview was done via Skype. I made this setting on the dining table with the Eiffel Tower on the background and a space invader shirt. All with a reason of course.
Skype: is a telecommunications application that specializes in providing video chat and voice calls between computers, tablets, mobile devices, the Xbox One console, and smartwatches over the Internet. Skype also provides instant messaging services. Users may transmit text, video, audio and images. Skype allows video conference calls. Released in 2003. In March 2020, Skype was used by 100 million people on a monthly basis and by 40 million people on a daily basis. That was a 70% increase in the number of daily users from the previous month, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cười w nhau. "Anh ơi.. ngoan anh nhé."
Gạt đi buốt giá trên mắt.
Em cười này. Anh thấy không? Em chẳng sao.. em ổn mà.
Vậy là từ giờ.. chẳng còn đêm em nt chúc anh ngủ ngoan nữa.
Sẽ không còn nắng để em nhắc nhở đừng đi trưa.
Mưa sẽ không là của em để lo cho anh cảm lạnh.
Anh sẽ có đêm riêng của anh. Nắng sẽ có một khoảng trời và sẽ có nhưng cơn mưa lạnh - Chỉ của riêng anh.. riêng anh thôi.
Em không khóc đâu. Em hứa đó. Chỉ là.. mắt em đổ mồ hôi thôi.
Vì mắt em đã mỏi - mỏi để trông chờ - mỏi để hi vọng - mỏi để ngóng mong - mỏi để cứ nhìn về anh.
Tim em không đau đâu. Chỉ là.. nó vô tình vỡ ra thôi..
Vì tim em đã nát - nát vì đã kiệt sức - nát vì không đc nâng niu - nát vì bị bỏ lơ một cách lạnh lùng - nát vì bao tổn thương.
Em..
Em sẽ ăn uống đều đặn.
Em sẽ chăm chỉ học hành.
Em sẽ ngủ sớm.
Em sẽ không ham chơi mà về trễ.
Em sẽ khoác áo đeo khẩu trang khi đi nắng.
Em sẽ kéo cổ áo thật cao khi trời lạnh.
Em hứa.
Em sẽ đọc thần chú.
Em sẽ ngắm lại hình của em và anh.
Em sẽ nhìn yahoo anh sáng.
Em sẽ ước cho anh - mỗi khi em đc ước điều gì.
Và sẽ là người đầu tiên - Chúc anh hạnh phúc.
Cho đến khi. Em không còn yêu anh.

I thought I might write something about leaving lockdown but I know nothing about that, or Boris's Pa needing to Covid-secure his pad-for-rent in Greece before the holiday season ... there's a 'get out of jail free' card for all holiday rental companies (and free promotion for him), but I've given up any concept of the 'commonweal'. What I did do was put on white leggings to try under a dress, however, they did not work together. Rather than take the leggings off, I decided to get out some things that teenagers might have worn a few years back before going clubbing (or church, you choose!)
I then changed into the dress I wanted a photo of (later) and had a nice videocall with Pamela.
Take care everyone ... it is not the time to slip into complacency.

Nikki was just about to give up on her daily routines at the DollHouse and the Mansion, suddenly she received a videocall from someone special.. It's her BFF Barbie!! They had a very long chat, listening to Nikki's problems and giving her advice and motivations. Barbie also informed Nikki that she'll be back real soon.. Soo excited!!
Well... When the homeowners ( Grandma and Grandpa ) are on the phone with their daughter who lives across the country and visits once a year....and they see you in the background on the videocall.... and they say " Is Karen there today?"
and THEIR kids want to say Hello to Karen because they love Grandma's maid, and you know everyone on both sides of the family from the years of service.
I would say you become VERY familiar with the clients lives.
Lunch out in the van with Jill, then a video chat with Bess and Edie too..

Ok, it's not dads birthday yet, but we brought him a new iPad 2 and while he is absolutely non-technical it was impressive in how within a few minutes he could use it, play YouTube videos, check his email and most importantly: Skype with his brother. His brother lives about 450 kilometers away. They and other family members skype every day. The years before they only talked a few times a year, and some of them actually lost touch. Now - they are on a daily routine, have all their distinct time in the evening and gather on their computers to talk to each other. His 82 year old brother always uses YouTube during his noon-nap to play background music to fall asleep. It's quite amazing how the lovely seniors quickly adopt technology - especially in this case - when it comes in a handy device. Pretty amazing.
Spotted this man making a video call on the highwalk 'bridge' over London Wall this morning, so sneaked a quick shot of him.
Had a full day of training on our new CRM today - which all went OK, until we started discussing whether or not we can really stick to our (latest) go-live deadline of next week. A few things came out of the woodwork which made us think that 'no' is the correct answer - and then more things came out of this afternoon's training that sucked away any remaining confidence. What a sh** show.
Somehow Parliament managed to trump us by actually approving Boris Johnson's Brexit deal today. Unbelievable!

Taken back in 98, with a disposable camera, and flash on :p. The friendly little Asian girl chats with her American friend about this and that. Amazing what all past EPCOT attraction could pack into one ride back then. Now we are left with nothing but empty space and queasy stomachs.
I think this week I am going to past old pics/scans. Funny to look back at them.
