Reflections on the ferry crossing the IJssel River near Deventer. The Dutch lyrics below are an excerpt from the song "Heen en Weer" by Drs. P. These are (quite brilliant) reflections on the ferry phenomenon. If you don't speak Dutch, it's worth translating the lyrics of the entire song.

The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel is a triumphal arch of Paris built between 1807 and 1809 in neoclassical style.
Joins the Louvre courtyard to the Tuileries gardens. At the time of its construction, it was located very close to the destroyed Palazzo delle Tuileries. It is part of the so-called Axe historique, line taken during the urban development of the capital: it runs in a straight line several central areas of Paris: starting from the Louvre, passing through the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile, then arriving at the postmodern Arc de La Défense, symbol of the homonymous district.
In the arc of the Carrousel there are also some lateral openings which allow to pass under the arch from left to right and vice versa.
The architects Charles Percier and Pierre-François-Léonard Fontaine were commissioned to build it. Charles Meynier was also chosen for the plastic decorations project. Inspired by the Battle of Austerlitz, these were performed by various sculptors and also reproduce different scenes inspired by peace negotiations.
Among the various friezes and inscriptions are identified various references to the Peace of Presburg, signed precisely in Presburg (now Bratislava), then capital of Hungary.
The quadriga placed on the building had previously been moved from Piazza San Marco (in 1798 after the Italian campaigns). After the Restoration, with the Napoleonic defeat, it returned to Venice anyway, only to be replaced by a copy on the arch of the Carrousel.

The Zahara-El Gastor reservoir is located in the northeast of the province of Cádiz. It belongs to the Guadalete-Barbate River Basin District. It encompasses land belonging to the municipalities of Zahara de la Sierra and El Gastor.
Prior to its construction, there was a bridge of artistic value, known as the "Roman Bridge of Zahara de la Sierra," which was dismantled when the reservoir was created. Despite promises to rebuild it, nothing remains. Some sources suggest a Roman origin.
Images of the reservoir frequently appear on television as a tourist attraction of Andalusia. The reservoir is a major tourist attraction in Zahara, not only for its aesthetic appeal (the reservoir can be seen from the balcony of the main square, and the town is reflected in its waters from the hills), but also for outdoor activities such as swimming events (cross-country swims, triathlons), kayaking, pedal boating, and fishing competitions, at the La Puente Recreational Area (El Mogote) and the El Higuerón Leisure and Sports Center. There are also scenic routes around the reservoir (hiking, horseback riding, and cycling) from the El Higuerón Leisure and Sports Center to the Arroyomolinos - La Playita Recreational Area and vice versa. On the shores of the reservoir, there is a restaurant with panoramic views at the La Puente Recreational Area (El Mogote). The Arroyomolinos - La Playita Recreational Area is located in Arroyomolinos, a tributary of the Guadalete River that flows into the Zahara-El Gastor Reservoir, within the municipality of Zahara. the Sierra.

When I visited this exhibition that showing finds of my town I saw this decoration that seem to me the perfect representation of my nickname: a flower with the sun in the centre or whereas a sun with rays flower shaped.
Perhaps it belonged to some of my ancestors lived 1600 years ago!

This set is inspired by the concept of mutual influence: a man and a women living in symbiosis their art and their existences. Through the pictures, we see Eduardo in Bianca’ eyes and vice versa. His disposition wedge perfectly in her attitudes, they have a deep correspondence of sensitivity and creativity. Regardless the painting and sculptures they create have their own personal meaning and beauty, but it is the fruitful union of their art that goes the extra mile.
Zocodover Square is a square in the Spanish city of Toledo, in the autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha. It was the nerve centre of the city for most of its history and acted as its main square. Juan de Herrera designed part of it during the reign of Philip II.
The origin of the name Zocodover comes from the Arabic sūq ad-dawābb, which means "market for beasts of burden". This square was also the place where bulls were run and where the cucañas were organised during the town's festivals. It is, therefore, the nerve centre of the town's social life since medieval times. Inquisition acts of faith and public executions of prisoners were also held in Zocodover.
When a fire destroyed the old square on 29 October 1589, it was decided to build a new one. In 1854, an ambitious project was drawn up by the technician Santiago Martín Ruiz to reorganise the Plaza de Zocodover and transform it into a rectangular porticoed plaza.
There must have been several attempts to widen the plaza, although these two are the most notable.
The first and oldest dates back to the time of the Catholic Monarchs, approved by Isabel de Castilla herself in 1502. The proposal came from the Toledo city council and all its bodies were authorised to remodel it, given that the plaza was too narrow and, since the Alcázar of Toledo lacked a suitable plaza, they wanted to join both up to the front façade of the building. To do this, a wall would be raised to overcome the difference in level up to the San Miguel gate and its characteristics were also regulated, among which the construction of the typical arcades of Castilian architecture stands out. This colossal work was never carried out, since, taking into account the technical possibilities of the time and the high gradient from Zocodover to the main façade of the Alcázar (23 metres), the difficulty was very burdensome, adding to this the fact that in order to lower the ground it would have been necessary to excavate in solid rock.
The second extension was carried out and dates from the beginning of the 17th century. It consisted of the demolition of a series of low-value houses that seem to have hindered the full view of Zocodover from its upper part to the lower part and vice versa. No more arcades were ever built and this is probably due to the fact that they did not want to take up space from the square.
Today Zocodover is one of the places in the city where many events and celebrations take place, and it also serves as a popular meeting and enjoyment point for the people of Toledo and, above all, an obligatory stop for the thousands of tourists who line the streets of the historic centre throughout the year.

Self omission
Are you the type of person who puts their interests ahead or are you the kind of person who is first concerned with the welfare of others, then thinking of yourself?
Before you answer that question, if you have not already done ... I dare to ask you first about who we are talking about.
Today the "altruism" it is very fashionable thing, and I really have no problems with it, mainly because I do not give much importance, however, as long as it is from your own initiative and not for the trend, it seems a nice way to live a life. The problem is basically that "people" do it because is what is "supposed" to be good, forgetting personal interests for fear of not being accepted, not fitting in, and being called selfish.
The current definition of selfish is a bit far from what it used to be, and judged badly by worrying own interests, when one looks after his own happiness. I see nothing wrong ensure their own happiness as long as the welfare of other people do not trample. Judging we got where we are, and judging we will finish.
For me, my interest in life is to become more happy, and as a strategy I think about my own interests, involving share my selfishness (always sounds interesting every time I think). Eliminating toxic people in our lives, attracting those from which we can learn and grow ... should not be a situation where you meet a person to fix it, but someone who can absorb what you think is necessary, and vice versa . I do not intend just sit around waiting for good things to happen to me, life is definitely not like that (and better than not).

His disposition wedge perfectly in her attitudes, they have a deep correspondence of sensitivity and creativity. Regardless the painting and sculptures they create have their own personal meaning and beauty, but it is the fruitful union of their art that goes the extra mile.

Renfe Viajeros S.A.

Renfe Viajeros S.A. (Renfe Operadora group): following the tragic accident in Gelida on January 20, 2016, the section between Martorell and Sant Sadurní d'Anoia was closed for several days. Although freight trains resumed service on February 9, passenger trains have not yet returned. Therefore, a shuttle train service currently operates hourly between Sant Sadurní and Sant Vicenç de Calders on this part of the Rodalies R4 line.
Here we see the EMU 447 158 working one of these shuttle trains towards Sant Sadurní, shortly after arriving at l'Arboç station.

PIEVE DI ZOLDO WITH THE PARISH CHURCH OF SAN FLORIANO
The vicissitudes of the Val Zoldana, far from commercial traffic and devoid of economic interest, are obscure to us until the late Middle Ages.
In the 15th century the valley became prosperous thanks to the iron and steel industry which supplied materials for the Venetian Arsenal (still numerous toponyms recall the existence of ovens, workshops and forges). Between the 16th and 18th centuries various palaces were built which still bear witness to the florid past.
When Venice fell, the valley passed from the French to the Austrians and vice versa, finally becoming definitively Austrian with all of the Veneto in 1806.
