japan is traditionally known as the land of the chrysanthemum. the flower is designed in the imperial crest and considered to be something noble and sacred. but in autumn, we EAT mums. this edible mum is particularly called "motte-no-hoka," which literally means "absolutely improper." (sorry, the emperor, but they are tasty...)
We went to Fukuoka by father's buddhist service on the weekend, and ate the evening meal in the "YATAI" (Street stall in Japan).
Because that evening meal was very delicious, it introduces it.
It's "Oden", Famous cooking dish of Japan, it's Radish, Rolled cabbage, (Konnyaku)Paste made from the arum root, and (Ganmodoki)a fried been curd cake with vegitables and other ingredients in it.

Garlic scapes are the first tender green shoots on garlic which will become bulbils. They are edible when young and add a delicate garlic flavour to salads, soups and sauces. You can use them just as you would use chives
