These 3 Potatoes turned up for a party. There was an awkward moment, and then they said "Oh, we didn't realise we needed a jacket!".

The host was slightly annoyed. Eventually he replied "Hmm, remember I told you we were going to get half-baked?!"

Scott Arbor CSA veggies, Week 5 - July 4

Contained: basil, dill, tomatoes, bicolored long beans, yellow squash, 3 types of hot pepper, purple onions, shallots, and 2 types of cucumber.

Review:

Made: Cucumber/sour cream salad with fresh dill, tomato sandwiches, steamed beans, AWESOME pico, and gave the squash and some cucs to MIL. Perfect! Also gave basil to neighbor cause I have tons in my yard.

Remaining: Tomatoes. Time to make some tomato sauce!

Went to Borough market, saw these lovely tomatoes and snapped them :)

Vegetarian broth and seasoning vegetables to which is added:

1 cup chickpeas with liquid

1 large baked russet potato, diced

1 cup shredded cabbage

1 cup diced yellow summer squash

1/2 cup chopped parsley leaves

1 can diced tomatoes

1 spoonful dried Italian seasoning

1/4 cup Demerara sugar

Cook until cabbage is just done

Serve with parmesan or other cheese and croutons

salad!

this seemed to be a weirdly difficult challenge for me, as i didn't really encounter any vegetables this week! haha.

Men tend to dominate the streets of Rajasthan but here are a few women in traditional garb buying some herbs.

we can get mostly the same stuff here in san francisco, except the bright red carrots (in front) that was served almost every meal in raw salads. it tastes just like the orange carrots, but is much redder.

The vegetables are freshly picked and delicious!
