Vanilla Silver Dollar Pancakes

Sometimes all you want is pancakes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Serve it some tofu scramble and vegan sausages for complete meal.

1 c. flour

2 tsp. sugar

1 T. baking powder

½ tsp. salt

1 c. soy or almond milk

1 T. apple cider vinegar

2 T. coconut oil

1 tsp. vanilla extract

In medium size bowl, whisk together milk and cider. In large mixing bowl,

add all ingredients and mix well, a few lumps are ok and set aside.

Set a large pan to medium to medium high heat. Add oil then ladle in the mixture about 2-3 inch size in diameter, larger for a full size pancake.

Tiny bubbles will form on the top, as soon as it pops, flip it over for another 30 seconds or so making sure that the batter is cooked through, then plate it.

*Tip: Add in your favorite fruits into the mixture or just topped of it off with a pat of vegan butter and maple syrup.

Prep time: 15 minutes

Serving: 12-14 Silver dollar size pancakes

Why vegan: www.vegankit.com/why

Soaking pasta in water with a bit of sea salt overnight seems a good idea. When the tomato sauce has been almost cooked, put the soaked pasta in the same pot, cook them for another few minutes, and it's done.

This organic pasta made out of whole spelt by Alce Nero tastes terrific.

It might have been better if I added beans or something, but the ingredients I used this time are, tomato, onion, garlic, turmeric, cacao, chili pepper, black pepper, sea salt, and pasta, with olive oil, oregano, and rosemary on top.

With blackberry and peach buttercream frosting (not vegan since I only had butter on hand). I was skeptical at first because they just didn't smell right coming out of the oven but oh boy, they were awesome.

My oldest is a hardcore vegan. 50,000 plus followers etc. People are cray cray, I'm telling you. All in moderation, that's my aspiration/inspiration. I've seen too many extremists in my lifetime. I believe you must educate yourself on all aspects of any given concept, before you decide on which path you'll embark. I chose mine, my kiddos choose their, and I learn from them, and occasionally they listen to me. Rarely. This so called graffiti was on the sidewalk, I admire the dedication.

Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret is a 2014 documentary film produced and directed by Kip Andersen and Keegan Kuhn. The film explores the impact of animal agriculture on the environment, and investigates the policies of environmental organizations on this issue. Environmental organizations investigated in the film include Greenpeace, Sierra Club, Surfrider Foundation, Rainforest Action Network, and many more.[1][2][3][4]

The film was crowdfunded on IndieGoGo, with 1,449 contributors giving $117,092. This funding was 217% of their goal, and it allowed them to dub the film into Spanish and German and subtitle it into more than 10 other languages, including Chinese and Russian.[5][6] Screenings are licensed through the distributor as well as on Tugg.[7]

A new cut of the documentary, executive-produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, premiered globally on Netflix on September 15, 2015.[8]

Criticism[edit]

[icon]This section needs expansion. You can help by adding to it. (October 2016)

Doug Boucher, reviewing the film for the Union of Concerned Scientists, disputed the film's claim that 51% of global greenhouse gases are caused by animal agriculture. Boucher describes the 51% figure as being sourced from a 2009 Worldwatch Institute report by Robert Goodland and Jeff Anhang; not from a peer-reviewed scientific paper. He asserts methodological flaws in Goodland and Anhang's logic, and claims that the scientific community has formed a consensus that global warming is primarily caused by humanity's burning of fossil fuels.[12] Boucher claims the scientific consensus is that livestock contribute 15% of global greenhouse gas emissions - far lower than the 51% claimed by the film.[12]

This Union of Concerned Scientists review concludes by alleging that livestock does indeed contribute to global warming—albeit at a far lower rate than the film claims—and notes that the film's allegation of a scientific 'conspiracy' to suppress knowledge belies the vast amount of literature published on the topic of livestock's contribution to greenhouse emissions.[12]

Vegan cupcakes take over the world, baby.

Since Friday I've been cooking a vegan lunch for 30 yogis per day. Today's dessert was a chocolate-orange cake with a sacher-frosting. The specimen above had a serious accident and looked like driven over by a tractor. I dressed her pretty and snapped this image. The taste was not damaged, guaranteed.
