I know it's been ages since I've made any images to upload mostly because I'm not able to get a decent sized image to work with without crashing atleast a zillion times before. But all this aside, I've made these two hats for " Art In Hats" an event that I'm sure you'll be hearing more about pretty soon!
In het gebouw: een paar van deze foto's - achter glas - geven een aardig beeld van de werksituatie in deze fabriek. Rechts zijn de zakken te zien die aan een transportrail hangen. Nadat deze gevuld waren gingen ze via één van de luchtbruggen richting de expeditie. Op de foto zijn ook nog een paar grote weegschalen te zien. Aan de haardracht van de dames is duidelijk te zien dat deze foto uit de jaren 1940-1950 stamt. Druk op de 'L' toets voor de vergroting.
Inside the building: a few of these photos - behind glass - give a good idea of the working situation in this factory. On the right you can see the bags hanging from a transport rail. After these were filled, they went to the expedition via one of the air bridges. The photo also shows a few large scales. The hairdress of the ladies clearly shows that this photo dates from the 1940-1950s. Press the 'L' key for the magnification.

The 'Put van Broekhoven' is a artificial lake, which is created when the site was excavated. The sand from the well was used to build the nearby A12 highway. The well lies in the Weijpoortse polder, and the mill is therefore named the Weijpoortste mill. It is a water-wip-mill, dated 1674. It drained the polder until 1975. It is now not longer in use, but under control of the Rijnlandse Molenstichting, a foundation that preserves all the Rijnland-mills (mills situated in the Rijnland-water board).
The Van Brienenoord Bridge (Dutch: Van Brienenoordbrug) is a large twin tied-arch motorway bridge in the Netherlands. Located at the east side of Rotterdam, it crosses the New Meuse (Nieuwe Maas), a major distributary of the river Rhine. The bridge actually consists of two separate, parallel, and almost identical arch-bridges, as well as a set of three parallel bascule bridges on the north end.
The bridge carries 12 lanes of traffic of the A16 motorway, the busiest highway in the Netherlands. Additionally, on the outside of the east arch, a two-way segregated cycling bridge has been mounted.
Including lead-up ramps, the Van Brienenoord Bridge is 1320 metres long and vessels with up to 24 metres air draft can pass under the closed bridge. With a span of 300 m, the west arch is the longest span road bridge in the Netherlands.
The east arch (287.5 m long) was built in 1965, constituting the original Van Brienenoord Bridge. In 1990 the bridge received a major upgrade, by the addition of a second, almost identical arch (305 m long and slightly broader) right next to its west flank, doubling its traffic capacity.
The bridge is named after the Eiland van Brienenoord (Isle of Brienenoord) in the river, on which some of its pillars are built. The little island was named after its former owner, baron Arnoud Willem van Brienen van de Groote Lindt in 1847. The Dutch suffix oord means a place.

Grazing sheep and goats line up in the foreground of Van fortress, which has its origins in the ancient kingdom of Urartu in the 9th to 7th C BC (Iron Age). It is the largest remaining example of Urartian architecture, lying in present day Turkey near the borders of Armenia and Iran. It changed hands many times between successive civilizations including the Armenians, Parthians, Romans, Persians, Byzantines, Arabs, Seljuks, Safavids, Afsharids, Ottomans and Russians.
Lijnenspel. Een gedeelte van één van de trappen. Zeil op de treden en roze verf. Hier geen tegeltjes. Echt een combinatie uit die jaren dat deze fabriek gebouwd is. Even groot bekijken - door op de 'L' toets te drukken.

Eén van de grote zalen met de genummerde tabakszuilen met uitzicht op o.a. de geel met groene banden beschilderde beton-tanks van Mebin Betonopslag. Opvallend zijn hier de moderne grote plafondlampen. Ik vind deze lampen niet passen bij dit gebouw. Wat meer naar links aan de overkant van de Delfs-havense Schie en schuin achter de Penitentiaire Inrichting 'De Schie' ligt Diergaarde Blijdorp. Even groot bekijken - door op de 'L' toets te drukken.
One of the large halls with the numbered tobacco columns with a view of, among other things, the yellow with green bands painted concrete tanks of Mebin Beton Storage. Striking are the modern large ceiling lamps. I don't think these lamps fit this building. A little more to the left on the other side of the Delfshavense Schie and diagonally behind the Penitentiary Institution 'De Schie' is Diergaarde Blijdorp. Viewing the same size - by pressing the 'L' key.
