I chose to use my backpack to display value. Since value is the lightness or darkness, this displays the two extremes side-by-side. Its interesting that with my flash on, the black almost takes a middle grey value.

This countertop in my dorms common area was very interesting, in this picture it looks like a countertop that has tints and shades which is true. At some points of the day some parts of the table change color due to the light coming from outside. Throughout the whole counter you can see the value scale. I think this is interesting because everyone sees the color change differently.
