This photograph demonstrates value due to its various shades of blue throughout. The rule of thirds was used when taking this photo. I believe that all the bright blue colours of the water, along with the large rock are the main focus.

I took this picture of my dog at the park near my house. This picture shows value because there are a lot of different shades of browns in it. It is fairly monochromatic for the most part as there is not a whole lot of color in it. The dirt my dog is standing on is a light brown color in the foreground but as you look towards the background down the hill you can see it getting to be a darker brown especially in the mud patches in the grass at the bottom of the hill. The line of trees in the background are also a different shade of brown. My dog is also a shade of brown to top it off, there is value in this picture because of all these different tints and shades of brown it is composed of.
Sometimes you never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory.
Since losing a dear friend, far too soon, to cancer, I'd been searching for a series of photos I took of him and his daughter a few years ago. I owe thanks today to FB for sharing a memory of that day with me, which led to digging through drawers and hard drives to find this keeper.
We shall never, ever stop sharing stories of you with your girls, Matt. We will keep your memory alive...always.
