Rags to riches...companies like Value Village make a large amount of money shipping rags to the Third World, where they are actually used for clothing. This makes huge profits for the middle men who buy from charities and , unfortunately, this often puts indigenous fabric and clothing makers out of business. This article will give you a small idea of the scope of this business:

My bed spread shows lightness and darkness of a color. All though it's not gradual you can still see the value.
Value(s) for Money? Philanthropy as a Catalyst for Social Change (March 6-9, 2014)
Increasing social and environmental challenges, writ globally, are raising the stakes for philanthropy to find "solutions". The deeply complex nature of these challenges, however, defies easy fixes and requires more sophisticated and diffuse systems level approaches. Is the philanthropic sector ready, or capable of meeting critical systemic challenges? Probably not, as seen through the lens of Michael Edwards in a recent think piece entitled 'Beauty and the Beast: Can Money Ever Foster Social Transformation?'.
Innovative funding mechanisms that support social change - like crowd-funding, social impact bonds, payments for eco-system services and prize-backed challenges - have diversified the funding landscape and brought in new resources. The system, however, is arguably out of balance with too much focus placed on revenue-generation, and directing financial resources, through the market. At the same time, less funding is available for the deeper, less tangible drivers of social change - change that is driven by the beneficiaries themselves and is inherently more democratic. Money, while a seemingly essential tool in change processes, can be a "curse", reinforcing or exacerbating the very circumstances and power imbalances at the heart of systemic social challenges.
The objective of this program, in partnership with Hivos, is to shape a new narrative on funding for deep social change that can influence current and future funding trends and global policies.
The value of nypa sap production was documented by Worldview’s pilot project completed in 2014. Ten villages were engaged in nypa sap tapping for production of healthy sweetener syrup in a cottage industry facility. The project provided valuable income to the tappers and production staff, with production of 1000 liter readymade syrup of high quality packed in handy 300 ml bottles as a result.
The flower branch is cut for collection of nypa sap. Each tree yields approximately one liter per day.

Excellent value and great fun at the JB Automotive Street Legal drags on Friday night at Castrol Raceway.
These three guys were all scattered on the floor, so I helped them to some nearby seats. Almost immediately after, someone had a nice long look at them but ultimately, they weren't adopted while I was still in the store.
1) value, shown in bright pink and blue clouds against the dark surroundings
2) a cloud during a sunset, I angled the picture so it would show both the cloud and the darkness of the street
3) The colour of the cloud
4) I would straighten the photo
The bright grass in the background creates a contrast with the model’s hair. This enhances the different values of black and brown in her hair.
A couple of weeks ago I was reading the Temple of the Seven Golden Camels blog and he talked about the drawing concept of "Silhouette Value". The concept that a character's action should be recognizable from just their silhouette. I decided to set up some photos to compare different poses for "silhouette value." Inspired by the values of identity, this photo-documentary series of Matthew Wells’ transformation shows how an alter-ego has the power to create and destroy.
Displaying the photographs in reverse order correlates to the idea of Matthew’s Persona, here you can see the outcome (MATTC***) which everyone is familiar with; but also have the rare chance to witness the metamorphosis from the beginning.
