Drawn for the Urban Sketchers "Urban Value Drawing" weekly theme. www.flickr.com/groups/urbansketches/discuss/7215764358495... In real life this scene was cluttered with construction barrels, cars, and traffic signs and signals, but I simplified it for the exercise.

Values in the eyes of beholder ; Variety with elegance is the spice of an art.
Photo from Sharjah International Photo exhibition .
This is going to be the start of a series of photos I intend to make that define different words. For this image, I selected "Value" and felt that using simple US bills would be inadequate; thus, I found someone that was willing to let me hold a fraction of their valuables to photograph. Instead of shooting it on the available concrete, I took off my black bandanna, laid it on the ground, and waited for a cloud to give the right lighting(the sun was horrible).
Hyper Value still exists in Barry Island (maybe just in name, but the shit they sell is also similar). Here's a nice random corporate mug you can buy.
Mabuhay !!
You can never ask for a more ideal value proposition..

1. This image investigates value because of the different shades of black through white.
2. The subject matter of this photograph is the poster that says "LOVE" and the one under that says "Be Yourself".
3. I think the most visually striking part of this image is the poster that says "LOVE" because it is big, black, bold and capitalized.
4. I could improve this shot by including the whole payphone instead of cutting it off.

This represents light and value by showing the shadow of the "robot" and the highlight on its chest bringing out the heart.

While walking in Dupont Circle area of Washington DC the United States Nation's Capitol Ryan noticed the windows of the hardware store had a display of martini glasses and shakers (some fancy hardware). Washington DC is a very coservative political town which is what made this stand out even more. Enjoy this window display in the Dupont Circle area which is about a ten minute walk to the white house.

our next series is "What the church can learn from Bay View". we are going to teach through the church's values. we are interviewing people from various area organizations and businesses who are doing that value well and putting these on videos for each week. this will allow us to value these relationships we've built while teaching these values from the Bible and from what we can learn from these people.
i thought i could get away with a LITTLE color (to highlight the title) because there are colored pencils in the image.
i put 2 of the businesses on the title page to give more breathing room. with having all of them on the other page they were small and a bit squished. but, is that confusing?
thoughts? thank!!!
Respect. The third of the Army Values. Treat people as they should be treated. In the Soldier’s Code, we pledge to “treat others with dignity and respect while expecting others to do the same.” Respect is what allows us to appreciate the best in other people. Respect is trusting that all people have done their jobs and fulfilled their duty. And self-respect is a vital ingredient with the Army value of respect, which results from knowing you have put forth your best effort. The Army is one team and each of us has something to contribute.
This image shows value because there is contrast between the reflection of the subjects and the actual subjects.

Great Service. Great Value. Highly Recommend
Our garage door spring snapped, leaving our garage door half-open. I called several local vendors to get pricing. While others put me in voicemail, Tom answered the phone right away. His price was substantially less than anyone in town. While he did not have the part in stock, he drove to Puyallup the same day, picked up the spring, and came to my home within hours. Instead of just giving me the spring, he installed it for me in a matter of minutes, made the adjustments, and had it working again in no time. Tom was not only very knowledgeable, he was very personable, and made me feel like I was his best customer. In addition to garage doors, we also talked about replacing our front entry door, hollow-core interior doors, and trim. Tom is very service oriented, conscientious, and provides outstanding value. His company name is catchy-too. I would highly recommend I Know a Guy Garage Doors.

Have You Ever Realize This Interesting Fact? LIFE & LOVE Both Starts From L, Both Ends At E & Both Are 4 Lettered. Well, There May Be Thousands Of Other Words Which May Rhymes Similarly. But You Know, ‘LIFE & LOVE’ - The Connection In Between Them Are Just Unexplainable – I Mean The More You Keep Explaining Them, The More You Will Drown. Probably You Will Reach The NIRVANA!! :p
The Pic Was Shot Somewhere From The Chautara Of The Chobaar Land. It Was Captured All In A Hurry – 15 Sec Span (Stopped My Bike, Opened The Bag, Opened The Camera Bag, Put ON The IXUS & Finally Pointed & Clicked). It Was Also The Second Day (24-April-2010) After I Bought A New Bike - Hunk. That Day, My New Bike Had A Scratch On Its Right Leg Guard, Handle & Mirror Plate As It Slipped Off While Taking A Slanted Right U Turn. Having Even The Slightest Scratch On New Assets, I Just HATE it. I Really Felt S/Bad, Exactly The Way I Felt When My 2 Days Old Mobile Was All Covered With Dust As I Had An Accident *.
- My New Mobile Set Was ‘All Covered’ With Dust During An Accident On 23-Jan-2010.
- My New Bike Slipped Off & Had Scratches On 24-Apr-2010.
I Find, Both Have A Unique Connection As Both Were New & Both Happened On The Second Day Of Owning Them & Interestingly, Latter One Happened 4 Months Later (Count January As 1, February As 2 …. & April As 4).
Haha … LIFE Is Like This, The Way It Is…. When Something Is Owned With The Hardships & Ultimate Desire, You Just Fall In LOVE For Them Not Because Of The Price Tag, Brand, Color, etc.. etc. You Have To Understand This - It’s Because Of The VALUE.
U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers engage with Tough Mudder participants at the Army sponsored obstacles and challenges as part of the Tough Mudder in Black Diamond, Wash., September 27, 2014. Soldiers are on-site to showcase Army Reserve opportunities and to encourage and interact with the participants.
The Army’s Tough Mudder sponsorship enables the Army to engage a key audience about Army values and service; the ability to serve part time and to showcase the opportunities that exist in the Army Reserve to help motivated men and women achieve their professional and personal goals.
The Army’s sponsorship program is aimed at highlighting the unique service opportunities available in the Special Operations and the Army Reserve to Tough Mudder participants seeking to test their mental, emotional, and physical strength. (U.S. Army photo by Spc. Heather Doppke/released)
The explosion of content on the Internet has many media companies racing to experiment with new forms of media and tackling ever more complex modes of distribution across myriad devices. But a lingering question for many media companies is around how to apply technologies to digitize and exploit archival content. Whether video, photography, or text, many of New York’s biggest media companies are grappling with how to take advantage of what seems a huge opportunity.
To dig deeper and get a sense of how NYC’s major players were contending with this issue, we gathered a panel to share their perspectives during our Internet Week event, The Value in the Vault, hosted at Shutterstock the evening of May 22. The panel included Jim Chou, CTO at Shutterstock; Marc Frons, CIO at The New York Times; Mona Jimenez, Associate Arts Professor and Associate Director, Moving Image Archiving and Preservation Program at NYU Tisch; Owen Rambow, Co-Chair, New Media Center, Institute for Data Sciences and Engineering at Columbia University; and Dirk Van Dall, VP, Multimedia Technology Development at Major League Baseball Advanced Media.

What is the value of our society as we still allow the human suffering of all races to live in squalor on the street?
Are the wealthy and entitled worth more?
I came close to being on the street but it was the love and generosity of friends who were not rich that helped me procure my wonderful small home.
I find now that it is for me to continue to help my daughters with their college educations and to still actively support The Salvation Army and Am Vets.
