The Umbrellas by Pierre-Auguste Renoir
Mid 19th Century Paris was so elegant, I doubt Renoir would have been so inspired in early 21st Century London

From Sonnet 18
It is well known now as Shakespeare's phrase "The Darling Buds of May" was used as the title for his novel by H.E. Bates... which has since been adapted for television too 😊
Apologies for using my Japanese plum in 3 successive photos - I am enjoying it before it freezes (-2.6c last night)

Sonnet 18
Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date;
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature’s changing course untrimm'd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st;
Nor shall death brag thou wander’st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow’st:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
Experiments in infra red in the back garden. Despite the April frosts my Magnolia is doing well. I was out early on to get a shot using the Z6 without any infra red conversion just with a with an Urth I-Red 72 filter and this set up seems to to do a decent IR shot. Had the camera on a tripod with the 2nd timer on it & I'm relatively pleased with the results. It probably looks more like a black and white than an ir shot. But I think when we have more leaves and blossom etc. It will work fine. I've tried IR filters on other lenses and cameras and I end up with hot spots so this seems a good combo. Hope you enjoy.
I used a painterly app on this shot. Another one found in my archives. I've been staying home during this stressful time, so no new photos.
I do hope you are all healthy and safe and thank you so much for your visits, comments, faves and group invites. I do appreciate them all.
....of suffering, when you go through darkness that is lonely, intense, and terrible.
Words become powerless to express your pain;
what others hear from your words is so distant and different
from what you are actually suffering.

Crazy conspiracy theories linked to 5G mast...
5G Mast spread the coronavirus
5G Mast are a cover-up for depopulation
5G Mast are used to monitor us

But even more absurd than any of those...
5G Mast are also a home for Kestrel Chicks!
Haha., that last one really made me laugh!
Surely can't be true!!
Can it?

The girl spent most of the next three days cleaning the theater, scavenging chairs from other buildings, and even finding some curtains that could be used to dress up the stage.
The Angel would drop in occasionally, to watch, or sit and chat, and on one occasion to do maintenance on her leg frame, which fascinated the girl.
"Does it ever hurt?" she asked the Angel, who was tightening something, with a fixed look of concentration on her face.
"Oh no, well; rarely, I did try dancing last year and that got a bit iffy, although I'd been to the ballerina camp so I was slightly wobbly from the Vodka.
"I'm wondering if you *are* one of the Russian Ballet members, you know - I visited the camp last night .. " The girl rubbed the back of her head as if soothing a headache, then continued .. "They asked me to help them out."
The Angel glanced up from her work, a twinkling eye directed at the girl...."A tasting?" she asked.
The girl shook her head, then thought better of it, grasping the back of her head again. "No, no.... washing, I needed to wash a few things, and traded my time.." She paused a moment... "might have been some tasting...."

Swarovski used to make a lovely range of beads ... and I collected a few of each design I thought might photograph well. These are among my favourites. Called 'brilliants' they create all kinds of colours when the light hits them. These are tiny, about 8mm cubes.
