This one i took at the victoria memorial in kolkata. i thought of using a different perspective. for people from all over the world, the memorial itself is the important object to view.i tried to cover the memorial overlooked by the lion.this is one of the lions who guard the former palace of the british queen victoria.

thick, creamy celery soup of celery, parsnip, potato, onion and fresh coriander

plenty of vegetables were used in this recipe. that's why i cooked in two saucepans. the cooked contents of both saucepans were decanted into the large preserving pan, mixed together and ladled into the boxes to freeze. much of what i buy is from the markets. yesterday at whitechapel market a bowl of 3 bunches of coriander was £1

celery and parsnip cooked in a large saucepan, then blended

potato and onion cooked in a large saucepan, then blended

both pans of vegetables including the cooking water decanted into large preserving pan

a chopped bunch of fresh coriander added

(season during this stage or season just before being plated to eat)

stirred to mix all the ingredients

finally celery soup ladled into the boxes ready for the freezer, to be eaten as and when

i add milk and/or extra virgin olive oil either in the preliminary cooking (not this time) or later when each portion is reheated ready to eat, just to keep upping the flavour :)

when reheating i add more cooked potato and blend. this restores the creamy consistency of the soup which can be lost once frozen

all cooking was done on the hob on a low heat, 2 and less, from beginning to end.

i'd heard an energy saving tip from a bbc radio 2 listener who had phoned in to a programme on rising energy costs. he had noticed it was cheaper if he cooked on the hob throughout on low rather than medium or high, making sure the lid is on the pan, apart from the occasional stir.

now i've a smart meter installed www.britishgas.co.uk/smart-home/smart-meters.html monitoring energy use i thought i'd give it a go and found it to be a good tip.

(i suppose it's a bit like driving a car: driving fast burns up the fuel, driving slow lessens fuel consumption but we reach the destination)

if i have the hob on high, the smart meter dial shoots up to the orange/red and stays there - expensive - but on low the dial remains in the green - low cost - only occasionally for a few seconds each time, going to the orange/red

it does mean i have to plan ahead to give myself time to cook in this way but i'm managing and enjoying the challenge :)

This is the view from the place I stay when I am in Havana. As much as I am a fan of breakfast buffets (breakfast is my favorite meal) I am a bigger fan of being right where I want to be with a camera from the first moment I wake to the last moment I am awake.

To be clear I never crop an image. What you are looking at are two images mrged together so I can get the totlity of the view.

Yup I bit the bullet and modified a Z9 for infrared. I did a full spectrum conversion and then am using the bayonet filters from Kolarivision. Which means I can have my cake and eat it too. THe first element of the lens dictates everything that is going to happen from the quality of the light and resolution of thar light. So putting the IR filter at the end of the light path is far better than putting a filter in front of the lens. a full spectrum conversion allows me to bring my camera back to visible spectrum with a different filter as well as having every flavor of IR....coool....

There is a powerful advantage to a camera that can focus at the speed of life and that is more silent than a breath held expectant. You can truly create a place when the spirt of the subject can hide in your camera/

There is no camera system that has a better or more powerful one. This image was was shot using highlight center metering.

Shot with the AMAZING Z9. The Z9 is more camera than I am photographer.

I have been using spare time the last two days to search the web as we plan a holiday in Britain this October. We knew we wanted to go back to Dun Ringhyll in Sedbergh and was lucky enough to found it vacant, but the first days took some time to plan and to find a place to stay. We ended up with a cottage in Blair Atholl in Perthshire, Scotland www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/blairatholl/blairatholl/in...

Inspired by this I go back to last September and a short trip my wife and I had to Scotland to celebrate my 40 years and our 20 years wedding anniversary. We stayed in Callander, and one of the things we remember the most from the trip was a short hill walk to the Callander Crags. This was an advice we got from Eileen www.flickr.com/photos/23088560@N00 and it was a splendid walk before dinner. The views of the landscape were many places very pretty, and when we also saw a rainbow was it a double joy: the beauty of it and the fact that the rain was there and not over us.

A colored pencil set. I haven't done any macros in ages and I'm rusty. This needed a bit more depth of field.

"Floo powder is a glittery, silver powder used by witches and wizards to travel through the Floo Network. The Network connects most wizarding households and buildings. The powder turns a fireplace's flames harmless and emerald green. It is tricky to use; one must toss a handful of powder into a fireplace connected to the Floo Network, walk into the flames, and state the desired destination loudly and clearly to ensure arrival in the proper location."

This worked out perfectly for The Teleidoscope's Theme this week which "flour". The white blur you see up there is exactly the way the flour looked when I snapped the photo, I was pretty happy that it only took me three times to get it, any more and my living room would have been covered in white!

Glad you're enjoying the series so far, I think I have 2 more ideas to try out before I wrap it up.

Using a Slink body gave my breasts more definition at the bra-line, but it also made my breasts a little too big. I reduced them for the previous nude-study.

So far, I can't seem to make my hands any smaller. They're a little large for my body height. I could do it in my Lara body.

In the old days ( especially by today's SL expectations ), my breast-size and butt-size was quite noticeably smaller than today. I used to get teased for being so small on those two spots.

Partly used to film the 1939 movie Goodbye Mister Chips, starring Robert Donat.

The exteriors of the buildings of the fictional Brookfield School were shot at Repton School, an independent school (at the time of filming, for boys only), located in the village of Repton in Derbyshire, whilst the interiors, school courtyards and annexes, including the supposedly exterior shots of the Austrian Tyrol Mountains, were filmed at Denham Film Studios near the village of Denham in Buckinghamshire. Around 300 boys from Repton School—as well as members of the faculty—stayed on during the school holidays so that they could appear in the film.

We never leave the house without them and are definitely for single use. Fortunately you can now buy bio-degradable (compostable) bags that are better for the environment.

I have a variety of poo bag dispensers but this little zipped novelty pouch is my favourite!!

Billionaire Oliver Queen uses both his wealth and his unmatched archery skills as the Justice League's battling bowman, Green Arrow.

Although he is commonly thought of by many as just a modern-day Robin Hood, the Green Arrow is so much more than that limited description would lead you to believe. Born to a life of wealth and privilege, Oliver Queen took it all for granted until tragedy struck at sea, leaving him alone on a deserted island. There, Queen had to dig deep to find out if he had the inner fortitude to survive. While stranded on this island, Oliver honed his already formidable archery skills into becoming the greatest archer ever known.

When he finally returned to civilization, he embarked on a career as an urban vigilante, attempting to rid the streets of his hometown of Seattle, and also Star City, from crime and corruption with nothing but a bow and arrow. Viewed as a pampered playboy by the outside world, Green Arrow cares more about the plight of the poor and the suffering in America perhaps more than any other costumed superhero.

Although an imperfect man, prone to make mistakes in his personal life probably more than most other costumed crusaders, the Green Arrow is nevertheless one of the greatest heroes in the entire DC Universe. Whether fighting solo, with his paramour the Black Canary or with his fellow heroes of the Justice League, the Emerald Archer is one hero anyone would be lucky to have at their back.
