Using the glass table top as a cheap polarizer. Cheap, meaning I was too lazy to go to the other room and get a real polarizer.
Cellophane is a birefringent material, meaning that it alters the polarization of light passing through it. The alteration is wavelength dependent, so passing straight through one sheet might rotate linear polarized blue light by 90 degrees, but yellow by 45. Reflection off a glass surface is also polarization dependent, so light with polarization parallel to the surface is preferentially reflected. So, depending on the number of times and angle that the light passes through the cellophane sheet causes various colors to be polarized differently, and some preferentially reflected by the glass, causing the color pattern you see here.

Hong Kong Transport - Trucks
The Hong Kong Truck Culture
The number of Trucks, Vans* and Special Purpose Vehicles (Light, Medium & Heavy) registered + licenced in Hong Kong seems to fluctuate between 120,000 - 125,000 vehicles and presumably new trucks registered are offset by old trucks being retired or sold over the border in China.
*Vans are classified as Light Goods Vehicles and are not shown in this album
In Hong Kong Trucks are classified as GOODS VEHICLES By the Transport Department - see below
☛Light Goods Vehicles - Goods vehicles of permitted gross vehicle weight not exceeding 5.5 tonnes.
☛Medium Goods Vehicles - Goods vehicles of permitted gross vehicle weight exceeding 5.5 tonnes but not exceeding 24 tonnes.
☛Heavy Goods Vehicles - Goods vehicles of permitted gross vehicle weight exceeding 24 tonnes but not exceeding 38 tonnes.
The major truck types you tend to see in urban areas are trucks carrying construction materials or waste, dump trucks, concrete mixers and all sizes of delivery trucks... outside of the urban areas it is container trucks and large trucks carrying construction materials.
The following brands of Trucks can be seen on the streets of Hong Kong and include:-
Beiben ✚ Bell ✚ CAMC ✚ CNHTC ✚ DAF ✚ Dennis ✚ Dong Feng ✚ FAW ✚ Fuso ✚ Foton ✚ Ford ✚ Hino ✚ Howo ✚ Hyundai ✚ Isuzu ✚ Iveco ✚ JAC ✚ Kato ✚ KIA ✚ Liebherr ✚ MAN ✚ Mercedes Benz ✚ Mitsubishi ✚ Nissan ✚ Renault ✚ Scania ✚ Shacman ✚ Sinotruk ✚ Suzuki ✚ Toyota ✚ UD ✚ Volvo ✚ Zoomlion
Hong Kong is a brand conscious place even for trucks (!) hence the popularity of the European brands, Scania and Man are very popular and even the older trucks look the business and they are utterly reliable.
Isuzu is the market leader in terms of sale volume for all types of trucks.

Released in 2012 by Hot Toys. I bought in 2016 as used item in decent condition with the help my Hong Kong friend and just opened it up today to have a closer look. It is in okay condition overall but a disappointing thing is the missing figure stand – obviously the seller was not an honest one. Ah, well, for this photo session I have borrowed from my other Mk IV figure set which I will do the photos later. It is disappointing but now is too late to claim! haha! Not a biggie. I have more Mk IV figures of the same era so nothing to lose the night’s sleep over it.
This is a huge set with many small parts. It will be fun to compare with the recent diecast version release with the Gantry. All in good time I will.

Beijos!
While Illinois traditionally used all-caps on green destination signs, newer ones like this are in mixed-case. (Illinois usually omits distances from signs at highway junctions, opting to post distance signs after the junction.) This is on IL 94 at the junction of IL 192 in Taylor Ridge in Rock Island County.
I used to do a lot of rainy photography. I haven't done any in years, until now.
I just headed out with an umbrella and camera... and this is what resulted.
The table you see there is the same table used for the pumpkin and blackberry balanced-on-face photos.
There's more rainy photos, and larger versions, over on the blog.
95%+ of my miles are highway miles. I don't use a fairing or a windshield, because they are devices of the Devil (my Father).
After holding onto the bars for dear life because the wind was trying to trip me off of the bike I had to stop at about 60 miles and take a rest because my hands were cramping (Yeah, I'm a wuss...plus I'm gettin' old and I've been sleeping with Arthur too much.) so Melissa and I made Riverdale Park in Riverdale, a beautiful spot on the Saint Johns River.
.
Here you see the white caps on the Saint Johns, and the stacks belong to the Georgia-Pacific paper mill near Palatka.
Geez, looks more like the ocean than a river, doesn't it? The wind was really cranking!
Grainy photo because it's taken with my point and shoot's zoom lens. Get it...zoom lens? ROFL

I've been experimenting using HDR image as a light source in Blender and rendering with Yafray. I've used the Biotrust tutorial to set up this scene, with additional info about HDR image setup from Blender noob to pro wiki.
HDR(i) stands for High Dynamic Range (imaging). Normally digital images, eg like jpg's, are just using whole numbers between 0 and 255 to represent one of the RGB colors, this gives about (256*256*256) 16777216 different colors. Such images are also called LDR (Low Dynamic Images). HDR images are using decimal (floating point) numbers to represent their values, and gives a lot more information about the image. That would be like using a value between 0 and 4294967296 to represent just one of the RGB colors.
With digital image processing programs (eg. photoshop or cinepaint) this gives a lot of editing opportunities. It will bring colors out from even quite dark areas of the image. This is why HDR images often are so colorful.
HDR images in computer rendered images (and movies) are for this reason used as light source (like in my image above), and gives the scene a much better and natural lightening of rendered objects. This is especially useful when rendered object are mixed with real images. The HDR image used in scenes are therefore taken from reflections from a Chrome ball where the scene is to be rendered. This technique is called light probening.
HDR images can also be produced by taking several pictures of the same scene using different exposures and composing them together. In this way details in both the bright and dark areas of an image can be seen. Try to search flickr with the keyword 'hdr', and you will discover a whole new world of digital images.
The hdr image used in this rendering was taken from Paul Debevec's homepage.
(please add comments, I am after all a noob at this subject.....)
