Used my now defunct Motorola Atrix for this shot. Not the greatest quality image I know but thought it an interesting piece of 'social history'.

Edited using Topaz Denoise. Use the link below and save 15%. I HIGHLY recommend this product for noise reduction!

Using my 70mm for this shot, Was able to get this nice angle on the pier and stairs as the lighting continued to drop there along the river.

In addition to the pastel colors coming from the sky / sunset, I really like the lighting on the houses across the river with the varied types of lamp fixtures over there creating lots of other colors and reflections.

The Manoora Institute was built using local stone from Wares Quarry in 1880 by Messrs Jones & McFarlane at a cost of £280, with the committee providing the stone, bricks, lime, and sand. The main hall was officially opened on the 18th of December 1884 by the Minster of Justice and Education, the Hon. R. C. Baker. The local community later raised £600 by staging concerts and billiard tournaments to fund the front extensions, which opened on the 17th of October 1908 by the Commissioner of Crown Lands, the Hon. L. O'Loughlin.

Manoora, South Australia:

Manoora, South Australia, is named after the Aboriginal name for a spring of water. Developed from a waystation for copper teamsters, Manoora was also on the Peterborough railway line, serving Burra until the line closed. It passed by the upper reaches of the Gilbert River. Manoora is a pleasant town ringed by shallow hills, and its buildings feature extensive use of local sandstone.

It is still in use but known as the least used railway station in Victoria.

Mainly used for the local electric company. It handles high voltage battery maintainence for city dwellers of the City Yurigoma. Because it has a smooth 'skin' its named after a scaleless fish. Also its shaped rather odd like a fish chopped in an unorthodox manner. The Katsuyakoma have become part of daily living since we all rely on battery power now, since we used up our fossils around 2067.

I used 2 inch by 2 inch blocks. 8 blocks across and 10 high. I added a little edge to finish it off. My blocks lined up a little better using all cotton fabric, but I'm still amazed at how minute this work is. I'm toying with the idea of using 1.5 inch squares for a more realistic scale.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Cathedral of St. Giles has a history spanning 900 years. Its architecture is so intricate and unusual that will help you feel you are right in front of one of the most impressive buildings in Scotland.

Its hollow, rounded dome dominated the skyline of Edinburgh for 5 centuries and has been the spiritual heart of Edinburgh at key moments that have happened in the history of Scotland.

The Cathedral, and apparently so great, yet smaller in size than many others, was raised on behalf of St. Giles, a popular French saint, Scotland and France allied against the common enemy, England.

In its long history, St. Giles witnessed riots, celebrations and performances that have marked the history of Scotland. Also, it was engulfed in flames and had to be restored and, as a consequence, suffered major structural changes.

I took this while on a bike ride along the Delaware and Rariton Canal in East Millstone, New Jersey. It had a long history as the article in Wikipedia details.

The Franklin Inn was built by Cornelius Van Liew in 1752. Located at 2371 Amwell Road (Route 514), East Millstone, New Jersey. Originally it was the Van Liew farmhouse, it has also been known as Annie Van Liew's house and, after being remodeled into a tavern and inn, the Franklin House Hotel. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places as a contributing property of the East Millstone Historic District on March 17, 1983.

In June 1777, during the Revolutionary War, Charles Cornwallis commandeered the house and used it as his headquarters for five days. Several thousand British troops were encamped nearby in what is now Colonial Park Arboretum and Gardens. William Howe, 5th Viscount Howe and his troops were in New Brunswick, New Jersey and Middlebush, New Jersey. During the war, American Revolutionary generals used the house to hold meetings.

The house and property stayed with the Van Liew family until 1822, when it was sold to John Wyckoff. Wyckoff rented the property, and it was used as a tavern starting in 1829. The Delaware and Raritan Canal nearby was opened in 1834.

The tavern was closed in 1916 with prohibition. The building was operated as a used book store by the Meadows Foundation until 2012 when it was flooded by Hurricane Sandy and closed. [Wikipedia]
