To photograph the unbelievable Upper Antelope Canyon, one has to join a tour. I joined the photography tour, which allowed the use of a tripod (a must in order to get decent shots inside the dimly lighted canyon) and more time inside the slot canyon. Even so, our group of six was herded from spots to spots by the guide and hardly had enough time to compose a shot. Inside the canyon, it was crowded with many groups but the guides were doing a great job in providing organization. I’m glad I was there, but probably won’t be back again.

Wow! Did not realize how long it has been since I was downtown Tulsa, a brand new stairway to the upper deck of parking, with covered parking below. Just an open parking lot was all that was there the last time I was here.
Another from Upper Moor a few days ago. This one facing the other way towards the road. One of the first ones I took whilst the mist was blowing in.
Trundling through the marshlands west of Ishpeming at a relaxing 10MPH, CN 5408 leads the twice weekly L539 towards L'Anse, MI.
The lake is popularly called a Staussee (reservoir), it has an area of 3.8 square kilometres and contains 60 million cubic metres of drinking water. The lake, with a depth of up to 43 metres, is a nature reserve. The arch dam, 47 metres high, was completed in 1958 and is between 1.5 metres and 4.5 metres thick.
With my butt firmly glued to the big chair after another 60 hour work week I went to the wta site and looked at recent trip reports, one was Sheep Lake, a super easy hike on what was supposed to be a cloudy day. With a loud sucking noise I extricated myself and grabbed the go bag. Once arriving at the lake I could see that the trail went on and with decent visibility I wandered on up until this happened. I knew where I was immediately, just didn't know that I could get there by the route I'd taken.
Now that I've typed this I've decided that I'm going to climb that peak over there right now. It's my one day off dang it, get moving (he says to himself.....) :-) That's Crystal peak, and a peek at Mount Rainier in the clouds left.
Here is the upper section of the Crystal Cascades in the Pinkham Notch area of the White Mountain National Forest, NH, October 2023. The early bird gets this far left portion of the observation deck, the best vantage point peeking besides the cliffside-left. This upper section is just the opening act in the beautiful cascades down below.
Upper Tahquamenon Falls on the Tahquamenon River. Taken on a color tour trip thru the U.P. Still nowhere near peak color when I visitied, but there were some nice pockets of color hear and there.
