Title: Upper Oolite fossils

Description: Depictions of characteristic fossils found in the Upper Oolite stratum.

Smith was the first person to recognise the importance of fossils in identifying strata of equivalent age, thus enabling rocks to be correlated across country. His work as a surveyor and engineer involved him travelling up and down the country during which he accumulated a large collection of ‘characteristic’ fossils of the British strata. By 1815, his financial problems (caused in part by a bad investment in a quarrying concern in Bath) led to the sale of his precious fossil collection to the British Museum. This publication is part catalogue/part explanation of his collection and theories, the illustrations (by the natural history illustrator James Sowerby) printed on coloured paper to correlate with the geological colouring on his 1815 map of England and Wales.

Single-track lift bridge over Hackensack River was built by the Lackawanna Railroad in 1959 for Boonton Line service and replaced a 1901 swing bridge. In 1963 Erie Main Line service was rerouted via Upper Hack. Currently used by NJ Transit Main Line service between Suffern and Hoboken via Paterson.

In the middle of the night, hide away from the tourist searching for fun there is a small balcony. Is probably the best view in Malta to watch the Three cities and also the port of the city. But in the night the place is quiet, alone and in silence. The first step is to walk to the back of the Malta Stock Exchange and find the door to the Upper Barrakka Gardens. Valletta is not a green city with a lot of parks probably because the space is a valuable thing in such a small island and also because the countryside is quite close to the center. Inside the olive trees threats like a ceiling where they branches connects. Like a bubble where the light and the noise cannot enter.

Here is a photo from our road trip. This is taken at Upper Antelope Canyon in Page, Az. The colors are incredible as the sunbeams break through the cracks in the earth and light up the narrow dark canyons. If you get a chance to go here... GO it is am azing and one of the most photographed places on earth.

The Upper Falls near Old Man's Cave in Hocking Hills State Park, southeastern Ohio. The area is in the Appalachian foothills.

Looking south along Upper Street towards the Parish Church of St. Mary. On the left-hand is one of the L.C.C. fire stations adjacent to the Odeon cinema and Florence Street. Typical double-decker trams dominated the public surface transportation system and were an adventure to ride on. c.1908.

RAF Upper Heyford was opened in 1916. It was home to RAF Bomber Command during World War 2 and then the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command during the Cold War. Crews here saw action during Desert Storm. Across the road are the ordnance storage facilities. This side housed classrooms, accommodation, a supermarket, and hospital (now demolished). Oh, and a strange indoor beach volleyball court. Closed in 1993. The whole site is now being demolished to make way for a housing development.
