I looked out of the window this morning and felt the damp greyness of the new day weigh heavily. The thought of more of the same for months to come hit me.... How silly to have my mood for the day set so early by the weather that is always changing here - except, of course when it doesn't change for weeks and the talk is all about climate change! So I found a nice cheerful picture of some of my favourite flowers to lift the spirits!!!
I know I've posted a ton of Golden Gate Bridge pictures and countless fog pictures. And here is another one of them. I haven't been going out much lately, so I am just looking through some of my older photos and came across this one. Hope you like it.

When I climbed up the Hills of the Wiehengebirge near the Wittekindsburg on Saturday morning I spotted a team of paragliders preparing for their flight. Porta Westfalica, Ostwestfalen, Germany
I thought of what photo to post to sum up such a strange year, of highs and lows. As waves of virus have washed over us all I thought this photo of a wave building up ready to crash over these wonderful eroded rocks was perfect. There have been times of beauty in between the waves, Draped in sunlight and warmth, only to have plans dashed again. I can't complain, I had a fantastic six weeks in the Italian Alps and Sardinia in summer, then a great two weeks in Wales in November, . It's a. pity our planned trip to the Dolomites had to be cancelled, but I'm sure we'll do something else equally as exciting as soon as France allows me to travel again.
I wish everyone a wonderful New Year, and thanks so much for your support and friendship.
Uplift is by BE and is the sound of a hive of honeybees with a lovely orchestral accompaniment.
Lovely to see these elements of Spring - which I found really uplifting in a time where most other stuff is very definitely in the other direction.
More sunrays! I was blessed the morning I took these shots, I was able to track the sun through different parts of the wood to capture many crepuscular moments for a good 15 minutes whilst the mist hung there almost waiting for someone to photograph it. So sorry, a few more to come yet :)
This one I especially like as the light lit up little areas of ground and highlighted the amazing amount of spiders webs that were woven overnight (and ended up on me!)
Do whatever makes you feel good.

These are the vans used to carry our bicycles around - we've just driven to the beginning of a long track to lead us down into Ronda
As each Snow Goose flaps it's wings it creates an uplift for the birds that follow. Snow Geese lifting off from a farmer's field, Route 934, near Fontana, Pennsylvania.
If only all days could begin with having the time to enjoy the sunrise. This shot was taken on an glorious October morning in the harbour at Collioure in Languedoc
THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT HAVE A GREAT DAY
A composite. The grands had fun with this one. They helped me take photos of the books. Other elements from my archives.
It's a bit of a tricky day today. It should be a time for birthday celebrations in our family, but my mum is undergoing some major surgery and I'm waiting anxiously by the phone. As I walked our dog this morning the air felt cold and autumnal and I was missing the wildflowers that have added so much to this daily walk throughout the spring and summer. Suddenly I noticed that a nearby ivy bush was alive with the most beautiful red admiral butterflies - there must have been at least 15 - just dazzling in their number and colour. it's at times like this that I'm most thankful for that special lift that the beauty of nature can give the spirits. This one's for you mum ❤️ !
I walk this track with our dog most days and this section in autumn is an absolute joy. Quite a lot of the beech leaves are still there 3 weeks on from when this was taken, though the yellows and much of the green have now gone.
And HFF! to folks - it's been a while since my last upload to this once-popular topic!
A tidal wave swaying hearts,
Tsunami of a hopeful start,
Splashing around we go,
Keeping up with the flow,
Despite the waters depth,
Countless promises unkept,
Dual strength is formed,
A unique love born,
Hand in hand from now,
They made a silent vow,
Together like never before,
Looking forward to explore,
Hope, strength and support,
As well as each others comfort,
Tight hug in the end of the day,
Actions have a lot more to say,
Surreal endless connection,
Under each others protection,
Believing in our creative souls,
Cheering till we reach our goals,
To pull up when down,
Will never let each other drown,
Counting the passing days,
Choosing each other, always...

One of the photos totally stole my heart, there was just something about how spontaneous that picture was, the one done in the middle of the street on a dirty puddle. Somehow looked so dreamy, so uplifting and so inspirational! I couldn't think of a more better spot to have recreated this shot, in the once Kintsugi, right in the middle of Bambi's maple tunnel and even her amazing breathtaking water droplets seen so beautifully.
Special thank you to Jay, my awesome sweetest friend, for giving me the idea how to do the splashes!
A grey and dank day. Then a burst of golden light, a new year, and ray of renewed hope for 2021. There's more than just light at the end of the tunnel, it has to be a better place!
So finally we've had a lovely sunny morning with a whiff of summer nearing its end. Young Australian Reed Warblers were having fun chasing the insects and did not pay much attention to that lone human on the shore.
