Guaranteed way to get a neck ache or hit by a bus.

The building on the right is the one where we stayed with our friends in their condo in Fort Myers. Their place is on the tenth floor with all the windows looking out over the water: We saw manatees and dolphins swimming by! ( processed in Lightroom)

Things took an odd turn this morning. Initially I planned to go down and grab 4014 at Crescent then jump up to Kennard and call it quits. Obviously things didn't work out that way. A heavy downpour kept me in the house and I waited instead for 4014 to come to me which proved to be a good choice.

Earlier on MCHNP had stalled on the hill and lost its 2nd of 2 motors leaving it underpowered to get going again. With other freights in the area unable to assist Ed offered to give them a push to the top.

After hooking on 4014 works hard to aid getting MCHNP moving again. They would shove around 4 miles before cutting off.

The M-TPTP fighting all the wind as it rolls past the sewer plant in Bonner Springs, KS this afternoon on my way home from the cube farm. The wind was blowing about 45 mph from the north as evident here with all the dust being kicked up on the south side of the train.

Should have went with the 500mm here but that stupid green board kind of ruins that shot when something is on main 2. The 500mm would have also eliminated the tree that looks like it's growing out of the top of the unit too. Shooting these tele shots ain't as easy as some of you folks think.

After making a pickup at the IANR in Manly, UP train LTC17 enters the former CGW for its last 10 miles to Mason City.

First shot of 2023 is now in the books with UP 8975 leading a horrible slot utilization intermodal stacker at Lenape not long ago in the middle of a brief sucker hole of sun. The advantages of living not too far from this spot I guess.

May the rest of 2023 be filled with EMD's and less GE's.

UP 6432 knocking down the signals at Loring and still kicking up just a little bit of snow. We had about 12" of the white stuff at the homestead. About half of it disappeared today with temps climbing to 42 and bright sun.

I should have been out last night. Fresh powder and full sun for the last half hour of the day.

UP 5816 leads the daily Sparks-Roseville on the beginning of its decent of Donner Pass.

This is a set of pictures I was thinking of making since several months ago. I wanted to create a line-up of my own dolls, but something different from your usual comparison pictures.

Basic Unit of Measurement: Pukipuki/Obitsu 11cm

As you may notice, this is my favorite size.

Union Pacific Railroad E8 936 at Elgin, Illinois on May 1, 1966, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 936 is leading Train 111, the City of Denver, to a station stop at Elgin. The trailing unit was MILW E9 31C. Off to the right were parked commuter trains ( Scoots, on the Milwaukee Road ), with F9's 93C and 94A.

Spent more than an hour watching the seagulls in Maremagnum,Barcelona... tried to take photos of these birds in different angles.

I like this one because it was directly above me!!

Thanks to the 18-200mmVR lens which made shooting birds in flight a lot easier compared to the 55-200mm kit lens which I used 3 months ago...

Title inspired by the movie "UP" we watched with my daughter the other day.

Thanks for the views, faves and comments...

Have a nice weekend everyone!!

UP 1425 and 1487 are the power on the Northbound LMT54 03. They pull North of Highway 34 to shove back into the small yard at Union. After the setout was made, the two locomotives and hopper wyed themselves in Union to turn back South towards Falls City.
