The low neck posture is a warning to 'back off from me and my babies'...
I liked how the goslings were perfectly lined up for this capture :)

Phantom FGR.2 XT914 of 74 Squadron (with 56 squadron nose markings) is crewed up outside its HAS at the RAF Wattisham Station Heritage hangar during a TLE photoshoot.
66718 - 'Sir Peter Hendy' gets away from Llandudno Junction 33minutes late with the 6Z59 for Bescot Downside. 27th February.
With a green showing for Platform 1 a position was taken, only to find it was to go through Platform 2 which meant a quick change of position which resulted in this rather hurried take!.

Today sucked. Rant to follow.
First off, it's windy and there is enough dust in the air right now that makes even full sun muted.
Secondly, it's so damn windy that a large lens on a tripod can get blown over in the wind.
Thirdly, it sucks to watch your Nikon D800 mounted on a heavy duty tripod with a rather expensive piece of glass blow over in the 45MPH wind.
Stuff seems to be working fine...so far...but I've been down this road before and I know there likely something wrong internally in the lens that will render it useless right about the time I need it the most.
So...this is the only train that had a resemblance of sun on the nose. I got clouded on the other 3 EMD led trains that rolled by me. Shot from the ground because only a fool would send a drone in the air with wind gusts over 55mph.

Thank you for taking a peek :D
Coming up the hill from Box this morning the fog was clearing so I stopped to have a look over the valley towards Bath, when I looked around the light was coming through the trees like this. Always look for the light.
CN 594 Westbound has notched up to maintain track speed as they climb uphill at Passekeag, New Brunswick, a few miles east of Hampton.
Great day for a photo shoot. Minus 12 degrees C but nary a breeze so I spent an enjoyable morning by the river, which is still iced over.

So early in the morn, out I went with my Grinch coffee mug, as the pups went on their run.
These roses were there to greet me...
Coastal redwood forests are so beautiful and refreshing, but when some morning ocean fog rolls in it takes tranquillity to the next level. While photographing the rhododendrons in bloom, make sure to look skyward for a different view of these stoic giants.
"I've battled demons that won't let me sleep
Called to the sea but she abandoned me
But I won't never give up
No, never give up, no, no
No, I won't never give up
No, never give up, no, no
And I won't let you get me down
I'll keep gettin' up when I hit the ground
Oh, never give up, no, never give up no, no, oh
I won't let you get me down
I'll keep gettin' up when I hit the ground
Oh, never give up, no, never give up no, no, oh(...)"

A friendly wave from the conductor flies from one of a handful of CNW Dash 9 patches remaining. 9741 is the lone engine a coal empty westbound on the Blair Sub. Check out some of the interesting touches on this veteran; hand painted numberboards, and visors over the headlights... appears someone stole a headlight casting from an EMD and mounted it upside down.
It is unusual to see DC power on Union Pacific coal trains, much less General Electric DC power, and even much less CNW patches!
There she is, in all her restored and shiny glory. UP 6944, after the cosmetic restoration at the JBS, comes west as the last unit in NS 11A.
Union Pacific 4-8-4 Northern #844 on the 2016 "Trek to Tennessee" Special traveling between Jefferson City, MO and St. Louis, MO on October 18, 2016.
After making the stop in Hermann, the 844 continues east past the high Kallmeyer's Bluff.
Here's where things went a little off the rails for me (so to speak) as I had some bad luck with the sun that was darting in and out from under the clouds. Just moments before this shot, the sun was behind a cloud and I had adjusted my exposure. Then it popped back out, requiring another. By the time it reached the point of just before the trees, it was back behind the clouds again and the exposure on my shots at that point were off again.
This ended up being the best of a bad lot. While not exactly where I wanted the train for composition, the sun is at least out and the exposure is at least pretty good (with a little help from my friend, Photoshop)

I'm so excited to post my first water shot! The water was super cold; I was shaking like crazy haha. But it was fun and adventurous.
This young man was standing on a barrier watching the speakers at the March for our Lives in DC. He caught my eye out of thousands. Wherever you may stand on the issue, it is respectable to tip your hat to the dedication and determination etched on his face. The shirt he wears list individuals killed by assault type weapons in the US and their respective age. His headphones are off and he's fired up. Washington DC, 24 March 2018.

SSNP switching for an hour or so before they let the RCP&E train go west. Just long enough for clouds to roll in. Seen here at Pine street in Mankato.
Back from the graveyard, one of the re-activated SD9043's leads autoracks west through Logan, IA. Interestingly, the second unit is an old C60AC; now re-engined and downgraded to C44AC status (and obviously has experienced the ubiquitous GE fuel fire). These two locomotive series are an illustration of the failure of the 6000HP race.
