Driving through the grounds of Callaway Gardens, we were so surprised to see this small knoll of trees ablaze with Fall colors so late in the season we just had to pull over.

The "Rabbit Brush" just starts to bloom, and the blue of the river creeps through.
This Gladiator Meadow Katydid (Orchelimum gladiator) made an unexpected visit while shooting at Wildwood Lake, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
In the evenings the sun shines in my kitchen so beautifully and while I was preparing dinner, I discovered this unexpected shadows from the cheese grater. I shoot this kitchen subject so often and in so many different angles but never realized this shadows before. 😁

I frequently hear this Pheasant but my many attempts to locate and photograph it have typically ended in failure. Today it decided to walk across my path as if I was not even there.
For the Sunny 16 Podcast Cheap Shots Challenge (landscapes ... Does this "meet the brief"? That is, does it count as a landscape?)

I was composing a shot of this red carpet when a gentleman stopped abruptly in front to re-tie his shoe... :)

There were weeds popping through the pavement near a vacant commercial property, but the patch of purple thistle and seed pods was an unexpected surprise. Spear Thistle (Cirsium vulgare), One photo a day (195/366) -- Bayside, Queens, NYC -- July 13, 2020

I kind of always wished that a tram stop was here on Ul. Święty Marcin...looks like today that wish came true.
Truly "street" photography...

You never know what to expect when there is a storm at the beach. But no weatherapp (I use three) was predicting any light yesterday. I went anyway, also for a little walk. But although the sky was nothing but grey and rain was pouring down indeed, little patches of light started to break through around sunset. From that moment things only got better:)
Thanks for having a look! All faves and comments are highly appreciated!

I was sitting for a bit in a public area in Cambria. At some point I looked up and found this beetle looking back. I eased back, it eased back. No creatures harmed in this encounter.
I have absolutely no idea what sort of beetle it may have been.
Suggestions appreciated.
I found this little plant growing in my garden... I noticed the leaves were different from anything I had ever seen, so I let it grow to see what it would be!!
It spread pretty wide with tiny little buds... then they started to open into the sweetest little daisies I had ever seen. A friend told me they are called Chamomile.... or maybe Anacyclus!
German chamomile is an annual plant, however, it self-seeds so readily, you may think it's a perennial just like Roman chamomile
