The National Museum of Sudan was built in the mid-1960s and contains the largest and most important archaeological collection in the country. The collection is of such historical value that the museum has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
As a result of its remodelling in 1516-22, Sponza Palace has a beuatiful Venetian Gothic three-mullioned window directly above its Renaissance loggia.
The bay consists of a dense cluster of over 3,000 limestone monolithic islands, each topped with thick jungle vegetation, rising spectacularly from the ocean. Several of the islands are hollow, with enormous caves. This is the Hang Đầu Gỗ (Wooden Stakes Cave), the largest grotto in the Ha Long area. French tourists visited in the late 19th century, and named the cave Grotte des Merveilles. Its three large chambers contain large numerous stalactites and stalagmites (as well as 19th century French graffiti!).

Temple 100, the Central Temple, has an unusual plan which has not been found elsewhere in temple buildings, leading some archaeologists to dispute whether it was actually a temple. This area is in front of main entrance to the temple.

Queen Charlotte's Cottage is an early example of a cottage orné, a rustic cottage built as a country retreat, but not as a residence. The cottage was used by the royal family in the late 18th century for resting and taking tea during walks in the gardens.
Its main attractions were its rural setting and the large paddock which was situated to the rear of the cottage.
Many exotic animals were kept in the paddock. Queen Caroline had kept tigers at Richmond, but George III and Queen Charlotte contented themselves with more docile pets, including oriental cattle and colourful Tartarian pheasants, which are still to be seen in this quiet area of the gardens.
From the early 1790s, kangaroos (the first to arrive in England) were kept and successfully bred in the paddock. By the early 19th century there were 18 kangaroos.
This made the cottage a popular destination for royal walks until 1806 when Mr Aiton, the gardener, was instructed to turn the kangaroo paddock into a flower garden.
No doubt the Queen was inspired by her gardener at Richmond, 'Capability' Brown, who introduced the picturesque landscapes to English aristocrats.

Riomaggiore's main street is Via Colombo and numerous restaurants, bars & shops can be found on this street.
The Via dell'Amore is a path connecting Riomaggiore to its frazione Manarola, also part of the Cinque Terre.

I traveled to India for the first time to present a keynote at the 3rd Global Conference on Emerging Trends for Business Librarianship, November 21-22, 2017 at the Indian Institute of Management - Ahmedabad, India. We did some sightseeing on our last day in India and visited the amazing Rani ki vav stepwell near Patan, north of Ahmedabad. I am so very glad that I made it here. From the Wikipedia page, "Rani ki vav, or Ran-ki vav (Queen’s step well) was constructed during the rule of the Chaulukya dynasty. It is generally assumed that it was built in the memory of Bhima I (r. c. 1022–1064) by his widowed queen Udayamati and probably completed by Udayamati and Karna after his death. A reference to Udayamati building the monument is in Prabandha Chintamani, composed by the Jain monk Merunga Suri in 1304 AD." The term vav is Gujarati for stepwell. The burial chambers were dug deeply in the sandstone substratum and accessed by stairways. Kushite pyramids are solid monuments, lacking any internal chambers. They were erected over the burial chambers. The remains of the pyramid associated with this burial chamber are barely visible.

Completely built of wood without nails, the triple-gabled circular building, 36 m (118 ft) wide and 38 m (125 ft) high was for emperor to pray for good harvest twice a year. It sits atop a huge round white marble platform named Altar for Grain Prayers.

Thousands of graffiti, 'informal' pictorial and inscriptional incisions as well as markings, adorn the extensive sandstone walls of the Great Enclosure of Musawwarat. Many of these stem from the Meroitc period but also from the more recent post-Meroitic, Christian and Islamic periods.
