The memo of understanding Quennell has filed to intervene on behalf of his own appeal

New National Socialist type legislation: The following article provokes some chilling thoughts. It is amusing that the city of Saskatoon was largely founded by people who made their fortunes bootlegging and running whorehouses. Less amusing is to reflect that before the Jews in Germany were taken to the camps, their property was expropriated quite legally. It began with laws similar to this.

Province adds crimefighting tool

Saskatchewan News Network; Regina Leader-Post, November 04, 2005

REGINA (SNN) -- The provincial government is trying to crack down on crime in Saskatchewan with new legislation that allows police to seize property gained through or used in illegal activity.

Justice Minister Frank Quennell announced the proclamation of the Seizure of Criminal Property Act Thursday, calling it another step in the government's plan to "make the province a hostile environment for organized crime.

"We have a growing problem with gangs and with organized crime," he said. "I think people tend to think that gangs, as we understand them in Saskatchewan, aren't organized crime, they're not in business. Even where that's true, it won't be true for long."

Under the act, the chief of police in a jurisdiction can make an application in civil court to have property seized which is believed to be the gains of crime or is being used to carry out a crime.

In the event the person suspected of being in possession of such property is a member of a criminal organization, police must only be able to show that person has been previously convicted of engaging in organized crime. Police must only be able to show that the property was more likely than not gained through crime.

In the case of an individual criminal, there must be some proof that the property is the result of or being used in crime.

It is then up to the alleged criminal to prove the property isn't more likely than not the result of crime.

If the property is indeed deemed to be criminally linked, it will become property of the provincial government and sold, with the proceeds to cover the police force's legal bills.

Quennell said similar legislation is already in place in Ontario and Manitoba and has gone through first reading in the B.C. legislature.

Regina Police Service deputy chief Clive Weighill said even though the province doesn't have the large-scale crime syndicates that some provinces and states do, the legislation will be important in the fight against crime.

"One of the methods we have in stopping crime is taking away the ill-gotten gains from crime," he said. "If someone is selling drugs and the gains they're getting from it keeps disappearing on them and they have to keep reinvesting to buy their drugs and reinvesting to buy their property again, it certainly does put a dent in their activity."

He said it won't, however, be used on a regular basis.

"There would be a lengthy investigation done before we would even contemplate using this so it would only be a few times in a year," he said.

I'm hoping for a win next time, I suspect Sarah would be more impressed if it was warmer.

British born Frenchman Clet Abraham is a plastic artistic who is transforming the traffic signs across the world with a political, religious and philosophic understanding. Flo'N the GO found out some more about Abraham and his work - to read the full interview click here.

When did you begin to do this kind of art?

One year ago. I was crossing the city driving my car and started to think how stupid and primitive were the traffic signs that were ruling me. They told us: you can’t go there, you must turn left or right and nothing more. I decided to give them another meaning, a reading grade was what they lacked.

Where around the world is your work visable today?

Florence, Torino, London and Valencia. Next year, I expect to work in more European countries.

What was the first sign you 'adapted'?

The Jesus Christ, but it was stolen from the Piazza Michelangelo and I did the other about Virgin Mary and Maria Madalena.

Where do you draw your influences from?

I was influenced by Classicism and Surrealism. Maybe the artist that most influenced me was Pieter Buegel. Besides he didn’t have a perfect manual capacity, his work told something to people.

What is your opinion on urban art?

I think that general rules are wrong, we shouldn’t say that all is forbidden but that some things are and others not. Urban art always there was and always there will be. Also the David sculpture, of Michelangelo, is urban art.

watching this pair was a fabulous sight, so much trust shared by both of them, a very tender moment.

Why do weeds keep growing again and again despite frequent weeding? This question is relevant to gardeners, but also to researchers in ecology. Indeed, weeds are an often-neglected source of biodiversity. In a joint project with the French National Museum of Natural History (MNHN), we develop models to uncover how weeds can survive at the city scale despite the action of gardeners. To do so, we investigate plant dynamics in urban tree bases along streets. These tree bases can act as “highways” (or ecological corridors) for plant species, connecting parks and gardens. We aim to understand which plant species are effectively able to spread through urban tree bases. Our results will have consequences for the management of tree bases by gardeners: they will highlight new weeding strategies which are more efficient against undesirable species while promoting biodiversity.

Years ago, a farmer owned land along the Atlantic seacoast.

He constantly advertised for hired hands. Most people were

reluctant to work on farms along the Atlantic . They dreaded the

awful storms that raged across the Atlantic , wreaking havoc on the buildings and crops..

As the farmer interviewed applicants for the job, he received

A steady stream of refusals.

Finally, a short, thin man, well past middle age, approached

the farmer. "Are you a good farm hand?" the farmer asked him.

"Well, I can sleep when the wind blows," answered the little man.

Although puzzled by this answer, the farmer, desperate for help,

Hired him. The little man worked well around the farm, busy from

dawn to dusk, and the farmer felt satisfied with the man's work.

Then one night the wind howled loudly in from offshore.

Jumping out of bed, the farmer grabbed a lantern and rushed

next door to the hired hand's sleeping quarters. He shook the

little man and yelled, "Get up! A storm is coming!

Tie things down before they blow away!"

The little man rolled over in bed and said firmly, "No

sir. I told you, I can sleep when the wind blows."

Enraged by the response, the farmer was tempted to fire him on

the spot. Instead, he hurried outside to prepare for the storm.

To his amazement, he discovered that all of the haystacks had

been covered with tarpaulins.. The cows were in the barn, the chickens were in the coops, and the doors were barred.

The shutters were tightly secured. Everything was tied down.

Nothing could blow away. The farmer then understood what his

hired hand meant, so he returned to his bed to also sleep while

the wind blew. cid:image003.jpg@01C9A19B.19ED3A70

When you're prepared, spiritually, mentally, and physically,

you have nothing to fear. Can you sleep when the

wind blows through your life?

The hired hand in the story was able to sleep because he

had secured the farm against the storm .

We secure ourselves against the storms of life by

grounding ourselves in the Word of God..

We don't need to understand, we just need to hold

His hand to have peace in the middle of storms.

A friend of mine sent this to me today,

and I enjoyed it so much, that I wanted to send it to you.

I hope you enjoy your day and you sleep well.

GOD BLESS US ALL! Ü

Zika was first identified in 1947 in Uganda, and outbreaks have occurred in parts of the world such as Africa, Asia, and the Pacific Islands. The virus, carried by the Aedes Aegypti mosquito (pictured above), has stayed in the tropics and subtropics—but recently; Zika was recorded as being transmitted sexually in the United States. Like most mosquitoes, the Aedes Aegypti mosquito can be found near stagnant water including water found in shower stalls. Blood banks are asking people who have traveled in areas where the Zika virus is present to not donate blood for 28 days. There is no vaccine or medication to treat the Zika virus.

About one in five people exposed to Zika become symptomatic. The symptoms are fever, maculopapular rash (a flat red area on the skin with bumps), arthralgia and sometimes, conjunctivitis. There have also been reported cases of Guillain-Barre Syndrome. Symptoms can be treated by ensuring that our patients get plenty of rest, drink fluids and take Tylenol for fever and pain (do not give aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs to pregnant women).

If you suspect a pregnant female has contracted the Zika virus, let your site medical director (SMD) know immediately so he/she can decide on the next steps, as there has been an increase in the number of babies born with microcephaly to mothers who have contracted the Zika virus. It is a notifiable condition, so the local health department must be informed.

Get The Inside Scoop on Understanding Men In Relationsips, What Men

Need From Women and What Men Want From A Women!

Over the years, you've had many experiences (good and bad) with trying

to understand men.

Whil attempting to understand men you will begin to realize they

usually don't know what they want or need from a woman. They say one

thing and do another. Theysend mixed messages and confuse the mess out

of you!

I have confused many women during my lifetime but it was never on

purpose. I truly did not know what I wanted or needed from me, my life

oranyone else for that matter.

I ended up hurting people when I didn't mean too. And I am truly sorry

for thepain I unwillingly caused.

After many failed relationships, spending more time with me,

identifying what I desired out of life, talking with men and women and

observing people in relationships, I began to understand what men need

and want from a woman!

Thousands of men will spend years trying to identify and understand

what they want and need. Some will succeed but most will not. Just

look around you! I am sure you know a lot of confused men you don't

understand.

What you're about to read may piss you off. You will call me a few

names beforeyou are finished. How do I know? People have written to me

saying,"..stop spreading this crap. It's just garbage.” Can't please

everyone!

And there are those who thank me for the insights and how it helped

them in understanding men.

What I find intriguing is not the insults but the fact that many

people find it difficult to believe there are millions of men in the

world who think this way. Yet, they believe they trulywant to

understand men! They are only fooling themselves!

I'm just telling what I've witnessed over the past 20years from men in

the Boardroom, Wall Street, Post Office, etc.

One thing you must keep in mind is I'm not talking about all men. I

would estimate, based on my experience, 85% of good men may feel this

way. Notice I said, "good men."

That should scare you because if "good men" feel this way then how do

the other men feel who are not good men? Unfortunately, you should

know as you may have gotten involved with a fewof them!

You are going to take a journey into the mind of good men and how to

understand men. Some of it may seem too simple. Other times, you'll

think I'm crazy. And there will beinstances when you think I've really

lost my mind. Yet, I tell you I've witnessed these behaviors over and

over again. If you truly want to understand men read the information

with an open mind.

Unlike many women, I don't listen to what men say. I watch their

actions. And it's their actions that tell me what they really want and

need from a woman. I just gave you a major hint on how to understand

men. Read the previous two sentences again.

For example, if I know a man has a good woman at home and he's out

cheating that tells me a lot about him and what he really wants from a

woman.

If he treats his woman nicewhen company is around and call her all

sorts of names in private or treats her like crap, I know what he

really wants from a woman.

If he spends more time at work, with his friends or doing other things

withouthis woman that tells me what he really wants from a woman

One thing you should keep in mind is this course is for entertainment

purposes only. We are going to take an entertaining look at how to

understand men, what men need and want from women.

While I have witnessed and experienced what I'm about to reveal to

you, I can't guarantee other men will fit this model. Although I may

be off in a few areas I'm usually consistent and accurate.

The only way to truly find out if I'm on target is to read it, think

about the previous and current men in your life and see if there is

some validity to what I'm saying.

Your experience is more important than mine. I'm just providing you

with theframework to make sense of, and understand, men./

“I had never lived up so high before and was so excited that I began talking about trying to paint New York,” recalled Georgia O’Keeffe late in life. In 1924 the artist and her husband, Alfred Stieglitz, moved into the Shelton Hotel, then the world’s tallest residential skyscraper. The hotel’s stunning views inspired O’Keeffe to explore midtown Manhattan’s soaring geometries: she experimented across media and scale and with various subjects, forms, and perspectives during an energetic five-year period beginning in 1925. Through these works, which she called “my New Yorks,” she investigated the dynamic potential of the cityscape, often depicting it in dialogue with nature to represent her personal perceptions of the built environment.

This exhibition is the first to critically examine O’Keeffe’s paintings, drawings, and pastels of urban landscapes while situating them in the diverse context of her other compositions of the 1920s and early 1930s. The exhibition establishes these works not as outliers or as anomalous to her practice but rather as entirely integral to her modernist investigation in the 1920s—abstractions and still lifes made at Lake George in upstate New York and beyond and works made in the Southwest beginning in 1929. O’Keeffe’s “New Yorks” are essential to understanding how she became the artist we know today.

Famed for her images of flowers and Southwestern landscapes, Georgia O’Keeffe spent several years exploring the built environment of New York City with brush in hand. The artist first moved to the city’s newly built Shelton Hotel in 1924, then the tallest residential skyscraper in the world, and its soaring heights inspired a five-year period of energetic experimentation, across media and at a variety of scales, with subject matter, form, and perspective.

She created street-level compositions capturing the city’s monumental skyscrapers from below and suspended views looking down from her 30th-floor apartment.

O’Keeffe called these works “my New Yorks” and through them investigated the dynamic potential of New York’s cityscape—the organic and the inorganic, the natural and the constructed. As she put it, “One can’t paint New York as it is, but rather as it is felt.”

This exhibition is the first to seriously examine O’Keeffe’s paintings, drawings, and pastels of urban landscapes, while also situating them in the diverse context of her other compositions of the 1920s and early 1930s.

The presentation establishes these works not as outliers or anomalous to her practice, but rather as entirely integral to her modernist investigation in the 1920s—from her abstractions and still lifes at Lake George in upstate New York and beyond to her works upon arriving in the Southwest in 1929. O’Keeffe’s “New Yorks” are essential to understanding how she became the artist we know today.
